Harmon final schools

Hog fans seem to want Williams more than Harmon

I liked Harmon & thought he might’ve been the pg next year if he really improved. He’s best suited in the Jordan Woodard role his Jr season. He wasn’t close to Reaves last year at running the point.

Didn’t want that role, therefore, didn’t put the time in to improve shooting to touch Woodard.

Harmon had the chance to shine as a PG in Lubbock; sadly, he failed to deliver. I'll always believe we'd have won that game if Reaves could have played.

I wish Harmon was returning -- I expect him to continue to improve. I'll be neutral on him unless he goes to texas. If that happens, I'll cheer loud and long for him to struggle in every game he plays.

I'm no Harmon apologist, but he DEFINITELY could've played point here at OU. But there's only one ball on the floor. I'm not sure why the previous staff saw things the way they did, but here we are.

he was a good college pg last season ... OU just had a better college pg on the roster ...

harmon still has a very very big upside ..

oregon would be nice, just not sure how it fits into his nba showcase plans. kruger might have helped some, but i hope he ends up there.

I don't think he is athletic or skilled enough to have a VERY VERY big upside. Speaking more in terms of the NBA. I'm not saying he isn't athletic. And I'm not saying he isn't skilled. But he isn't anywhere close to elite on either of them.

Who would an NBA comp be that had any kind of success/longevity in the NBA be? At his size and current production (ie, shooting) levels?

Jordan Woodard is a pretty good comp, no?

I specifically said NBA.

I don't think anybody is arguing against the fact that Harmon could be a pretty solid college guard over the next two years. Elite? I'd say now, but he could be very good.

But I don't see a path to the NBA with his tools.

Ehh, not IMO. Woodard shot a lot better (he shot nearly 46% from 3 in 2015/2016) I’d argue Harmon is a better dribbler and driver than Woodard, better defensively as well.

Woodard should better from deep (38% to 34%), but Harmon shot better overall (43% to 38%), no doubt due to his ability to get to the basket.

this season harmon was .477 from the field .. that is very very guard in college basketball ..

woodard's best single season number was .416 ..

he had 1 outlier shooting season in 2015-2016 he didn't have to handle the ball much ... (with the NPOY getting lots of attention and d focus) he got lots of wide open shots ..

woodard a better PG right now. Harmon pounds the rock. but he is a soph. Itll get better with 2 more years in college.

Harmon a good player. My hatred will only be if he goes to Texas.

I dont like the lying and games they have played.

I agree. When I think of athletic PG's at the next level, I think of guys like RW, Kyrie, Dame, Morant, etc.... I don't see that type of explosiveness in Harmon. For less athletic PG's they either shoot very well, or are big guards who use their size like Brogdan, Deangelo Russell, etc. Maybe I'm underestimating Harmon, but I never saw the potential as a PG some here seem to see. He's a good college player. I don't see NBA in his future....

Yep, in the NBA if you're not an amazing athlete you have to be exceedingly skilled, think Steve Nash and Jason Kidd. I don't see Harmon having that level of skill.

Harmon was only a sophomore this year. If he is smart he will play at least 1 more year in college before trying to test nba again. There is a path for guys like him in today’s nba at pg. You have to be great at shooting and a great ball handler. His shot has improved a ton in just a year. I think he will be very good this year in college if he stays. I wish he would have chosen to stay at ou. I’d rather have him than Goldwire for sure.

Goldwire seems to be a better defender and dribbler whereas Harmon seems to be a better shooter. We'll see.

Harmon seemed to excel at the mid-range game which is not something the NBA values anymore. Non-paint 2-point shots are a no bueno these days at that level.
