Has Capel Commented or Made a Public Appearance Yet?

He's counting the c-notes from the big payday. Once he finishes counting, maybe he will make a public statement.

I wonder if he's throwing away any bills smaller than benji's? :ez-laugh:

His next public appearance may be accepting the job at Georgia Tech.

At some point Capel will be sucessful.

And when he is, and his "fans" come to this board and start saying "I told you so", I will laugh, because they still won't "get it".

What is sucessful? Capel doesn't even want to be a coach, he has stated his goal is to be a GM. Capel will make a living in basketball but he is not going to be a sucessful head coach.

and what is "it"?

Everyone knows he wasn't successful at OU and his firing was deserved. I don't think anyone really disagrees with that.

I still think he is a good coach and will do good wherever he ends up

Hard to define sucess, but if Capel stays coaching another 10 years, I'm guessing most will consider him at least some what sucessful from this point forward. He isn't terrible. I just don't think he's very good. At the right school, at the right time, he can have a sucessful tenure.

Generic answer, I know. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for.

IT is that even if Capel ends up doing well somewhere else, that a) it was time for OU to move on, and b) that doesn't mean he'd have been as sucessful here.

I have no doubt that at some point, Jeff will take a school back to the NCAA's. My biggest problem with Jeff is that I don't think he'll ever be consistent.
