Have you guys seen this. It is bad. I lack the skill to link it with my phone but an NHL guy clearly assaults a ref. It makes me rethink my position on the college player tripping that official. We just can't have this behavior. It is criminal. Those officials have not consented to being hit.

It will be interesting to see what happens. If I were commissioner I think I would issue a lifetime ban but that is a huge penalty so I would have to think about it a while.

Watch closely as he gets close to the ref he extends both arms and the stick and checks the ref

Yeah but I think he was out of it. I don't think he realized it was a ref

The hell it wasn't intentional. He obviously knew somebody was in front of him. Who did he think it was.......in the black and white striped shirt?

Obviously intentional.

He extended his arms into his back and slammed him.

If it were not intentional, he'd probably have turned around to help the Ref up and instead he just kept going because he was pissed.

just like the WWE the ref was looking the other way

He just had his bell ring. Obviously the hit was intentional but I think he was out of it and didn't know it was a ref

I call bull on that. You don't get your bell rung from a routine check, he looked fine and his excuse was his head was down and he didn't see him not I as half out of it and thought it was an opposing player.

Plus you can not check someone in that situation. It was from behind and behind the play.

Has any punishment been decided on this yet? That was 100% on purpose. Totally bush league move.

He wasn't fine. That was obvious. Even the announcers that watch hockey every night said he was out of it
