I liked Tubbs and Sampson... you are barking up the wrong tree.

I was one of the biggest Capel supporters, and he's a real nice guy, but as I told the wife - if Mother Teresa coached this team, I'd say, "Man, Mother Teresa first recruited a bunch of guys who couldn't play D-1 basketball because they can't go to school, have bad attitudes and are delusional as to their NBA readiness. Then she followed it up with a bunch of guys who just can't play D-1 basketball. Mother Teresa is making OU basketball embarrassing, and needs to go."

It's only barely tolerable when they work hard and lose, but it's downright disgusting when they give up from almost the opening tip. Nice guy or not, I'm sick of this and want things to change. How can it get any worse with someone new, and how many "gonna get better soon" years must we endure before we actually get better?

We missed on kids (Warren,TMG, Tiny) because Capel was willing to over look certain character flaws, the kids have ego, he couldn't control it. Capel couldn't boot the AA players so he tried to exort more control on the role players (Patillo), those guys walked away..


In short... Took risks, couldn't control superstars, talent drain because of departures.

A large majority of the burger boys are prima donnas. (Blake was an exception to this as are many others)

The trick is the head coach has to impose his will on those kids to get them to play as a team. If the head coach can't, then it's chaos. Most of the top coaches can do this, JC can't.

JC recruited talented kids but couldn't get his kids to play hard and as a team.

That is HIS fault and no one else's. Yes, the kids are responsible but JC is ultimately responsible and has to take the fall, imo.

So yes, the lack of talent on this year's roster is his fault, imo.

Lack of talent, we just played a team that has no National 150 players while OU has four - Davis, Fitzgerald, Pledger, and Clark. It is not the talent, it is the lack of coaching. He has no bonafide assistant coaches and no control of the team - he is their buddy. Therefore, we have chaos and get blown out by Texas Tech.

We need to make the change quickly so we have a chance to pick up some talent...right now we have Goff...we will have 3-5 open schollies, so we need to add 2-4 more kids...I don't have alot of confidence that JC will bring in 2-4 impact kids...maybe Jurick, but he and Osby won't be enough to bring this team back to life...we need a coach that can get some gamechangers and put some life into this program next season...
