According to Maddie Manning, that is a quote upon which the team focused prior to the South Dakota State game.

I would suggest that this defines the program. A potential recruit needs to be able to comprehend at some point what that statement means. It is interesting to watch the post-game press conferences. You never know what you will hear.

Of course most of the post-game interview is the usual coach speak but there is usually a real gem buried in it.

Hopefully it means the shots will start falling soon....other wise I have no idea!!:ez-roll:

Yep. I always enjoy listening to Sherri's full post-game press conference, win or lose. And I don't do that with any other coach. Sherri is just so dang well spoken.

The Sooners are no longer the team we saw last season and not yet the team they will be by tournament time.

A couple have interpreted this similarly to what I would. I would suggest that it refers to the present state of development. Due to hard work, we are no longer what we were, but we are not yet what we will be. But, we should appreciate the moment and honor what has been accomplished, while realizing that work is how we will make further progress.

But, it also applies to the approach to a game. You can only use those talents that you have developed, and you make a mistake if you try to do what you have not yet perfected. I think this is what Sherri means when she says that a player is playing at her speed. She is playing within her capabilities, the same way that she practices.
