It is a great day when the Longhorns loses! :woot

Rick Barnes is the modern-day Dean Smith. Nobody does less with more.

5 second call with the win in your pocket....really?

not good situational coaching. UNC kid almost committing basket-interference was pretty bad, too. in fact, toss in Butler-Pitt and there have been some horrendously executed final 1 minutes of close games.

I was there. I laughed.

Did I see Balbay intentionally trip an Arizona player?

Always glad to see Texass lose - ALWAYS!

Having said that, the truth is that UT got jobbed. That was a very short 5 second count. And the play at the other end, as UT's Brown drove into the paint for a layup - looked like he got mugged, but no whistle.

But hey, they deserve it. I still have flashbacks of Stanbury's INT in the end zone that was ruled out of bounds...

the 5 second call definitely looked quick, but I thought it was a make up call for the play before that. Derrick Williams got mugged and got nothing and Miller was giving it to the refs.

I rewound it to see what the heck happened...the ref looked like he was working a shake-weight for counts 4 and 5...what a moron!!!

With that said, it was pretty funny to see them go down...

Texas got screwed. Brown was fouled on that drive. He beat the guy with his first step. The guy clearly fouls him by hitting him on the shoulder with his body. Then another guys comes from the backside and fouls Brown. Finally the original defender gets him on the arm.

It gets worse when the officials ignore the foul on Gary Johnson when he gers thevrebound.

Regardless, why wasn't Illi shooting free throws with 29 seconds left and play stopped? What was that?

Finally, why wasn't the bench ready to all timeout.

All of that started with Jordan Hamilton's bonehead decision to call timeout when no one was witin 15 feet of him, compound with J'Covan Brown spending four seconds in the backcourt bringing it up and I have no sympathy for UT.

Brown was getting borderline calls the final 10min of the game and was gift wrapped free throws, at some point you're not going to get that call and it worked against him. Johnson's foul occurred as time expired, if Brown wouldn't have walked up the floor with the ball, then it would be a discussion.

UT radio announcers said Barnes was going to ask for a TO regardless whether Williams made or missed his first attempt (the shot prior to the 5-second violation)...why? Huge mistake on Barnes' part.

Obviously it's great to see UT lose, but complaining about the officiating is a joke b/c the only reason they were in the game is because of it.

laughing at Rick Barnes blaming the NCAA for not having the "power to review a 5-second violation".

Dude is reaching at this point.

Watching it live, I thought the kid was taking a long time to throw the ball in. It seemed like a legitimate call to me.

In the first half, did I see Balbay intentially trip an Arizona player when he (Balbay) was on the floor? It was the play prior to an AZ player decking Balbay in what I thought was a retaliation.

5 out of the last 6 years UT hasn't made it out of the first weekend with all that talent.

And this from a poster on another board
Was talking some college hoops with another father in the neighborhood who was over for my daughter's birthday party yesterday. He claimed he knows a coach of an AAU squad - the one Kevin Durant was on. When he asks him how Texas of all places lands Durant, the guy's response was "300k goes a long way".

Disagree. I don't think Brown was fouled. It was a good no-call by the refs.
