she is in TOTAL control every single time.

The best point guard at OU since Dales. Hardly ever uturns the ball over and always puts us in the right plays.

Why is she better than Danielle? Because Robinson was a turnover machine. Since Hook has taken charge we no longer have tons of turnovers - 1st time since Sherri has been there !!!!!!!

She is not as good as D-Rob, but she's pretty good.

Agreed. She's really come a long way in running our team.

Well we average 17 a game and Hook and Vegas have the most with 58 - before today. We still commit too many turnovers and are sloppy with the ball as a team.

I've resigned my self to the fact that Sherris teams will always turn it over, allow offensive rebounds, and miss layups.

I was very high on Morgan far before she committed to OU. Many people in AR considered her as either the best or second best player there by her 10th grade. Then at OU she struggled quite a bit until the light started to come on very late in her frosh year. I could scarcely be happier with the player she's become. Sherry was spot-on in vigorously recruiting her.

As a secondary comment in response to KC, 13 TO's aren't all that many. In some years the national leader in fewest turnovers averages near there.

Our Turnovers are WAY down. DRob was very fast but out of control much of the time - Hook never really seems out of control. DRob always seemed to try and make the impossible pass - Rarely do we see Hook do that. Love her and the fact we have her for two more years and she will only get better.

And one other thing, she not only can shoot with her left hand, she is very good at dribbling with her left hand and that is RARE - even with the guys

Hook will be a senior this fall.

Please count me in the Morgan Hook camp. We would be lost without her.

A thin as we have become after all the injuries it's almost amazing that we are 8-3 in conference at this stage. The whole team is to be congradulated but especially Morgan Hook.

What difference does it make how she compares with D-Rob? Robinson did not play with a reduced roster even though she was the star of the team.

Well not sure where you pulled that number from but we had 14 today. During UConn's streak they averaged about 13. I see the difference between them as four possessions and in a close game that can make the difference along with whatever comes of them. I do have to realize that many here saw no problem with 20+ turnovers as long as we were winning.

Hook is very steady for our team, and I'm glad she's at the point. However, I wouldn't say she's been the best since Dales. It doesn't matter anyway.

It's as if some of the people on here have amnesia or something. DRob led OU to two Final Fours. It doesn't matter if she turned it over the most in OU history, that's still saying something. Now, she's shining in the WNBA. *rolls eyes*

By the way, Robinson did play with a reduced roster. Remember Kodi Morrison? Check it.

Well, I think we can all agree that Morgan was the best point guard on the court today!

Speaking of DRob, she averaged 3.9 turnovers per game in college but only 1.5 in the WNBA. DRob said her current coach will not tolerate excessive turnovers. Whatever he told her seems to be working.

Good for him. :clap:clap:clap

Hook just doesn't take the risky pass like all of our Points in the past, including Stacey and DRob. Sherri needs this as she won't bench someone who keeps making the "crazy" passes. Yes DRob was great but totally a turnover waiting to happen ALL THE TIME. I can remember almost everyone on this board complaining about her doing that - you just forgot, LOL.

The other thing I really like is if they lay off of her she is VERY good at shooting and making the 3. Deadly. DRob wouldn't take it if no one was standing within 10 feet of her.

Now don't get your panties in a wad, I love what DRob did for us - just would rather have someone like Hook who isn't as flashy BUT is very consistent. We almost always get a shot off and in the end that helps the team.

Not a slam on DRob or any of the others, just a preference.

And Dales was a fancy pass turnover waiting to happen too BUT she was the best on the floor every night and could overcome those mistakes with the rest of her game - She had it ALL!!

Morgan is a solid PG. 2 years ago she was a TO machine but she learned to slow it down some and maintain control. I really enjoy watching her play. Maybe this year but certainly next year she will be an All American.

Morgan is a very good point guard. I did not think so at the beginning of last year but she has continued to improve. Her decision making has gotten much better as has her passing.

She doesn't look to score as often as I think she should but that is because of how unselfish she is. She is limited in quickness but she usually makes up for it with her basketball smarts.

This is a better team right now than I thought it would be when we lost Maddie and Whitney. That is primarily because of the improvement of Morgan and Sharane. Kornet has also provided a spark off the bench lately. Griffin is playing better although she is still very inconsistent.

When we play tough defense, this is a pretty good basketball team.

If you remember even last year Sherri had no problem yanking her and putting Harden in - even at the end of games. Like Griffin, IMO, Hook has improved quite a bit over the summer.

Hook and Robinson are very different types of players, and I'm not sure that a comparison is valid. I wonder if Morgan can make it in the pros. She is more about how to do it rather than raw talent. But, you also have to look at the teams that each had to work with.

In DRob's last year, our leading scorers weren't shooting a high percentage. As a team, it wasn't much different than it is now, largely because DRob shot 45.8% from the field, herself. But, Vegas (39.2%), Hand (38.9%), Roethlisberger (38.2%), and Morgan (39.2%) weren't even 40% shooters. DRob was a large part of the offense because the rest of it hadn't really developed. She averaged 18.3 per game because Vegas and Hand were the only two others who threatened to score much. As a team, we watched DRob a lot, and I don't know that Morgan and Vegas knew what to do all the time yet.

Now, if you look at this year's team, Hook is about the only one who isn't shooting 40%. Vegas (44.1%), Nicole (51.6%), Campbell (40.9%). and Jo (46.0) and shooting quite well, and we lost two in Hand (53.2%)and Maddie (62.5%) who were shooting even better. If we need a three-point shot, we can always toss it to Vegas (44.1%), Sharane (35.8%), or Jo (37.7%). The key is that Morgan has options as to where the ball can go and get a score that DRob really didn't have.

Incidentally, DRob averaged about four turnovers per game to Morgan's three.

I think the real advantage that Morgan has is that this team is more like what Sherri teaches than DRob's team was. This group of players seems to learn every game. The in-game adjustments seem to work out better. Yesterday, for example, OSU killed us in the first half with drives to the lane and little tosses to wide open shooters for layups. Sherri said it was due to the screens, and they would talk about OSU's screens and how to fight through them at halftime. OSU didn't do that in the second half. They listened and adjusted. This team reflects its coaching.

I think that may be partially due to Morgan. She was the one that Sherri saw as a freshman in HS as the player who controlled the floor. When I watch what Jo, Nicole, and Sharane do, it seems that they are almost extensions of the roles that Sherri envisions. Hopefully, Vegas will get there in the next year.

But, I also watched Morgan make a couple of really stupid mistakes yesterday at key times. She tried a lazy pass over a defender on the secondary break to a wide open Vegas, only to have it easily intercepted. If we had scored, we would have tied the game. I also watched her throw a length of the floor pass that was easily intercepted, and Vegas wasn't really open on the receiving end. She also had a couple of drives in which she tossed the layup at the rim from about eight feet away. She usually misses those. But, for the most part, she is the key to how steady this team plays. The team is lost without her on the floor. They may say that X or Y is the leader, but Morgan is the one who sets the pace.

Right now, I see this as the best "team" since 2002. Morgan is a key part of that. If we had Whitney and Maddie (the one that I thought was developing), we could be a threat. Right now, we are playing very, very well for a five-player team.

I have to disagree with that comment. This is not a final four team as we don't have Courtney and Ashley Paris inside.

The "team" concept is better on this team than that one. It wasn't the "team" that this is, just had a couple of superior athletes.
