In our last 4 non conf games? We can beat Tulsa Tamcc but what about texas am and ltech? I know we want to be 12-1 but is 11 and 2 more realistic?
This is with Hornbeak out if he didnt get hurt I would say 12-1 easy.

We will get to 10-1. And I believe that we'll be La Tech at home, though they are a salty team -- the best non-con team we'll play besides MSU.

The real mystery is Texas A&M. They're not great, but they'll be playing at home and can definitely give us problems with size. They are similar to George Mason. I think in that they are pretty darn good defensively but ATROCIOUS on the offensive end. If they get hot at home, we can lose pretty easily. If we defend well and Woodard can stay in the game, I think we'll hit conference play 12-1 and sneaking into the top 25.

Aren't we playing aTm in Houston? Or did I dream that???

You're right, the game is in Houston.

I think ATM may be the toughest non-conference game left on our schedule. But it's definitely a game OU can win. Our kids have played enough games on a neutral court this season, they will not be intimidated by what could be an Aggie crowd in Houston.

i think we win the next 2 home game pretty easy .. tulsa and UTA

we then go win vs tamu in houston (it will be a small crowd)

and i think we win vs la tech with 9 days to get ready ..

12-1 going into conf play

The A&M game is in Houston as part of a doubleheader called the Lonestar Showcase (sponsored by Dickies). The other game is Houston vs. Rice. It's a similar format as the All College tournament is now. They're playing at Toyota Center which is in downtown Houston and it's where the Houston Rockets play ..... and it's a very nice arena.

All of those games are winnable, but I don't think we are to the point that we are above losing to A&M or LaTech on a bad night. At the start of the season, I would have taken an 11-2 non-conference record in a heartbeat. Now I think I'd be slightly disappointed.

I don't think losing Hornbeak costs us any of these games. We weren't counting on him to win us any games on his own...I think his minutes can be replace fairly easily by playing the other guards a few extra minutes and maybe giving Booker a little more burn to get acclimated to D-1 basketball. Losing Hornbeak might hurt us more in January.

I'd be disappointed if OU loses a neutral site game against TA&M. The Aggies lost to Missouri State - who barely beat Tulsa at home. Tulsa is terrible.

Neutral site game against a BCS conference school could still give OU problems, but feels like the Sooners are ready to win this type of game. Last year I would have anticipated an "L", now anticipating a "W". What a difference a year makes.
