The aggies were up 60+ points against mighty Miss. Valley State University, a team that plays in the SWAC and went 5-23 last season, and Travis Ford finally gave some of his lower-level scrubs and walk-ons some playing time.
With three minutes left in the game.
About midway through the second half, with their aggies up by 40+, some poor sap of a Delta Devil threw up a shot that missed everything and the oswho crowd gleefully chanted, "Air ball! Air ball!"
Allow me to reiterate: They were up by 40+ points against Mississippi Valley State, and they were ragging on an opposing player like it was a rivalry game.
And just before the buzzer, with oswho up by 55 points, one of those aggie scrubs threw up a shot from half-court (or close to it).
Stay classy, aggies.
And let me address in advance some of the nonsense the aggie fans who, thrilled by their big win tonight will come rushing over here soon, will spew in defending their coaches, players and fans: Yes, OU will play some weak sisters of our own during the coming weeks, but you can rest assured none of the following will occur when we do play those games:
And the notion that it was oswho's first game and Ford needed to get his starters and upper-level reserves all the minutes he could doesn't fly, either. oswho was up by 50 and 60 points. And their next two games are against Utah Valley and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. I think it's safe to say they don't really have to sweat those two outings. Any reasonable coach calls off the dogs midway through the second half, at the very latest. The aggies were padding their lead and the players' stats, plain and simple.
Thank heaven we have Lon Kruger.

- We won't have our starters in the game with a 60+-point lead.
- Our fans won't be ragging on players from those teams if our team is up by 40 pointS.
- And no matter who's in the game, we won't be launching half-court shots at the final buzzer if we're up by more than fifty points. We won't be launching those shots if we're up by five points.
