I'm going to project that we don't get Cezar or Jurick.

But let's assume we end up with a junior college point guard who proves to be an upgrade over what we have now.

Should this roster be able to make the NIT? NCAAs? Neither?

1 - Juco PG//Blair
2 - Pledger/Newell
3 - Clark/Neal
4 - Osby/CJ/Honore/Thompson
5 - Fitz/Goff

* Leaving Hardrick off because of his uncertainty.

Who's coaching?

NCAA bubble team at best is honestly how I feel now. Osby is the real deal, Pledger and Cam progress. Fitz hits the board, all that good stuff.

But honestly I've never been more down on this program then I have been at this moment.

So we're only going to sign one more player?

Not much different. Osby will give us what Cade did in a different capacity so it's up to Clark, Fitz and Pledge to grow up. I'll believe the last three when I see it. Probably 14-14 at this point next year.

I wouldn't count on Goff just yet. What I am hearing isn't too promising.

I really hope that doesn't come true Miller. If it does then you can pretty much erase any hopes of Capel keeping his job past next year.

I am about 90% sure Goff isnt going to be very good at all...

Pledger hasnt proven that he can be a starter for a good team, Clark has a lot of getting better to do, and Fitz is possible the weakest rebounder I have ever seen in an OU uniform (from a post player).

Osby better be the second coming of Lebron James for that team to make the NCAA Tournament.

We will make the NCAA tournament. Fitz may not be the best rebounder but he is one of the better post scorers in the country and that will increase w/ another year under his belt. Osby will bring better post defense. Pledger, Clark, and Neal should improve a lot in year 2 and 3.

Not too mention...Theres a good chance that the Big 12 will not be very good in the post if Thompson(Tex), Jones(Bay), Morris Twins(KU) all leave for the NBA. Theres no solid post players coming in from this 2011 class...and Miller(Bay) is more of a 3 and he's coming off an acl tear. aTm and mizzou will have a good post game for sure but nothing spetacular that OU can't score against. Clark could become 1 of the top 2 SFs in the conference.

I will even go out on a limb...if everyone who is expected to leave for the draft leaves...OU will finish in the top 3 of the conference. If not than of course it 'may' change.

Okay!!I think you are wrong, but I would LOVE to come back here next year and eat huge plate of crow.

Thompson is gone in the offseason. Or at least he should be. He has no business on a D-1 roster. There will be attrition and I assume Thompson and Hardrick would be two of them.

On another note, with Blair running point this team has no chance at making the NCAA next year. We won't even be on the bubble. It is sad when Newell (who is more of a 2 guard) plays the point better than Blair.

The problem is that people look at that roster and just picture all these guys right now. But many of them will improve. If they get in the weight room again like they did this year with Yo-Yo they will all be bigger and stronger. A year of maturity makes a big difference. Then you add a little size with Osby, Goff or another big body that Capel is trying to get and you have a major improvement.

Depending on how easy or hard our non-conference schedule is, I think we could be something like this.

10-4
9-9
1-1 (Big 12)

20-14 going into the NIT

Fitzgerald had 8 points against Missouri this year, and our post game should be significantly better next year with a healthy Green and the addition of Otto Porter (will be one of the best 3-4 freshmen in the Big 12).

Has any team ever gone from bottom 3 to top 3 in one year without major roster changes? I don't know of any. You're talking about OU doing it with one or two new faces. Probably not gonna happen...

Love the optimism...just don't see it though.

Best case in my mind is a bubble NCAA team.

Right, but your looking at it from an outside point of view. Brchgh is a homer, and looks at things through crimson colored glassed. He thinks that every team in the Big 12 is getting worse and that OU is the only team getting significantly better, he actually said this. The entire conference is gonna fall apart, and OU will jump into the top 3.
