How many Big 12 wins does Capel need to save his job?

There are just not candidates that I like well enough to say, Fire Capel now! I like Buzz, but he's not going to come here. Also, you can have Bobby Knight as the head coach, with Billy Tubbs as an assistant, Barry Switzer as the D.O.B. and the Dallas Cowgirls giving neck massages during TV timeouts and you still will bring in 2000 fans and see the program pushed to the back page of the sports section. There are some recruititng assistants that I like. Butch Pierre, Alvin Williamson, etc, but are they ready to lead a team. Then we'll have guys like Bruce Pearl and BCG who will try to rebuild their careers, but I wouldn't want those guys. Danny Kaspar is a guy that might be viable, but he's old as hell.

So that's my point. I'm not with firing if we're not going to upgrade and based off of Capel's first three years he's been a decent coach. Last year was failure in every since of the way. This year he's been a solid coach, the talent is just not there. So this spring, he must get some talent in, or else. If he does get talent in and struggle , that will sign his fate. If he doesn't bring talent in, that will sign his fate.

but same could also be said if Capel was able to convince them to honor their comitment. Its all a big what if game that really doesn't matter in 2011. I am down on Caple base on what he has done in years 4 and 5 with classes full of his recruits.

i feel like scotty reynolds & damien james & i cant remember that other guys name but whatever... that they didnt know who capel was & didnt know what type of coach was coming in. he took VCU to the NCAA tourney & The NIT in his last 2 seasons. CAN HE NOT HAVE ONE MORE DANG SEASON?!?!?!! :OUbball-logo:

It depends on what you mean by "envision". I don't think it will happen, but I think it's a possibility.

How about Bobby Lutz from Iowa State? He took Charlotte to the post-season a bunch of times, with 5 NCAA Tournament appearances, has 500 career wins, signed some top 20 classes while at Charlotte, etc.
