How would you feel about a smaller Bball Venue?

To check for scores and updates from other games instead of watching kids dance to "Moves Like Jagger" (please make it stop) during timeouts or whatever atrocity they roll out at halftime.

Huh? No problem getting scores from your phone at the game now.

IOWA STATE has no problem filling a 14,500 seat arena. Drop to the Missouri Valley in all sports that aren't football if you can't fill Lloyd Noble Center. There are plenty of football schools with no problem putting at least 10k in an arena for basketball games. It's not like Oklahoma basketball has sucked for long periods of time... rather 2-3 years. Sounds like SoonerNation needs a gut check... or a small slice of humble pie.

I've been to Ames, so I can fully understand why the folks there are desperate for a diversion.

Also, could you provide a list of those football schools that draw 10,000 fans to every basketball game? Since you insisted there are "plenty" of them, you'll surely have no problem coming up with at least ten.

Thanks in advance.

Huh? I never said there was.

MSP asked, "What's the point of free WIFI?"

My response: "To check for scores and updates from other games instead of watching kids dance to "Moves Like Jagger" (please make it stop) during timeouts or whatever atrocity they roll out at halftime."

Again, I never said I couldn't get WIFI at games. Thus, I have no idea why you're confused.

Good point. Personally, I'd love to know how they manage to find 2 people to shoot free throws who have never, ever in their entire life touched a basketball before. :facepalm

The same way they plucked out of the crowd a girl who couldn't even get the halfcourt shot to the free throw line. I guess they really didn't want to give away another Macbook Pro this season.

I attended one of the final womens bball games that they had in the fieldhouse. It was exhibition and it was PACKED. It sounds good in theory to have an arena that is packed till you are in that arena sitting like sardines or standing room only to be able to be a part of the game.

I could see OU building a nice state of the art smaller arena similar to what Auburn just built.

Here is a link to information/virtual tour/photos of Auburns new 92.5 million 9,600 seat arena. Those of you that want a smaller arena I assume something like this is what you are talking about.

Thanks for posting. I think Auburn has the right idea.
