let's start embracing the idea of the SMART choice

Shaka Smart

He's by far the option with the highest ceiling in the group and he has paid his dues. He might look young but he has actually worked his way up.

I am unfamiliar with Smart. What's his background, pre-vcu?

I would be weary of any coach from VCU. That is the best job in the country for a coach who wants to spring board to a big time job eventually, imo. They are in a weak conference and are located in a hotbed for recruiting.

Is he related to Shakia Zulu?

I'm sorry coolm but it just makes me laugh thinking we could hire a coach from VCU 2 times in a row...we might as well start asking their players to transfer here now also

He was an assistant for 10 years prior to becoming HC at VCU, including some high major stints. And I would argue that the CAA is one of the strongest low major conferences. George Mason, VCU, Hofstra and ODU have all been good for a while.

Hahahahahaha :clap

I guess we can officially take coolm off the Pearl train now? SHAKA! SHAKA! SHAKA!

No. if I still thought Pearl's show cause would be 1 year then I'd stay there. He's BY FAR the best coach out there unemployed.

But I don't think so now....so it's time for Shaka.
