Boo hoo. Shake is going to be a very good player on a very marginal team.

We "won" for TaShawn Thomas and Manyang. They are both going to be very strong contributors. Good post players are hard to land.

We aren't winning on any top level guys where their recruitment gets a little stretched out - it gets frustrating after a while and is a little similar to the position that our football team is in (albeit with them we're talking about top 30 guys as opposed to top 100)

I agree with pnkranger ... It would be nice to win one of these every once in awhile. It adds to the suckage that Shake picked a third-rate program like SMU.

He doesn't pick us bc he wants to start. We can't offer that... Lon gets it done end of story. We've already moved on to the next guy.

True that. Funny how no one is even talking about a rare commodity like Manyang anymore. It's not as if 7 footers with the potential to be a star at the college level and play in the NBA someday are available every year.

Thomas could have gone to practically any school he chose, yet he picked OU. If he's eligible to play this season, the Sooners will automatically be in the conversation with teams thought to have the goods to make it to the final four. The same is true if we have to wait until next year.

While I'm on record as saying that I would be disappointed if Shake didn't pick OU, I would take Manyang and one season with Thomas over Shake Milton and never think twice about it. Guards like him are a dime a dozen. Bigs like Manyang and Thomas don't come along too often.

While I would have loved to have the shake to go along with the bigs, there's no doubt we have landed the rarer commodities already. Kruger has proven that he can find a quality combo guard time and time again. If there are a couple late bloomers this season, rest assured Kruger will be aware of them. Woodard gives us time to find the right guy at point so even if we don't get a top guard in the late period I won't be worried.

I'm as frustrated as anyone about Milton, but our fans (maybe all fans, I don't know) tend to vastly overstate our recruiting "failures" (in football, too, since someone brought that up).

You guys still upset about Tum Tum Nairn? How about Juwan Parker? Stevie Clark?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeahhhhhh. We're gonna have a real good team this season. And next season. Shake Milton woulda
looked good in Crimson and Cream. But Crimson and Cream looks good regardless. Rashard Odomes and Akolda Manyang, we're waiting for ya!
