Through 8 or 9 games Steven Pledger is playing like an All-American. Not all conference, but national All-American.

20 ppg, 4 rpg, shooting 51% from the 3pt line, 60% from the field, 83% from the foul line. Those are ridiculous numbers.

Man, I already said a week ago that I would eat my crow on this guy... But I will be taking seconds on that crow just for good measure.

His overall game has improved so much since last year. Its not just his 3pt shot, he has more moves around the basket, is rebounding better, and his D is even better. Hes looking like a 1st team all conference player. I might have to eat crow when I said that losing Newell would cost us 5-6 games.

Don't say I didn't make every effort to spare you from a huge helping of crow for dinner.

Takes a big man to admit he was wrong, though! :clap

I'm right there with you abd. I'm eating a heaping helping of crow the day after every one of our games, but I'm sure not complaining.

Kudos to Pledger for the hard work in the offseason on his game. :clap

This years team also helps him get open more, which last years team didn't do. Bird is a beast this year.

I was thinking (really hoping and praying) that Kruger's system would fit Bird's game and it has beyond what I could have imagined thus far.

Capel's freestyle, iso hi-lo sets just didn't fit Pledger's skillset imo.

Agree with BOB in that #2 deserves a lot of credit for working hard in the off season to improve his consistency and his strength and conditioning.
