In looking to next year, I think we will see some changes. First, it seems likely that Nancy may play high post on offense since we have heard she has the skill to hit shots from there. That will leave Vivi and the other "normal" posts to play low post probably against smaller opponents guarding them.

Add Maddie, our returning players, and Chelsea, and we should be competitive with everyone we face.

Time will tell.

We desperately need some stars. I don't see that group having any stars. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you are right, but I think it will take a while for Nancy to adjust to D1 ball.

If you have Vivi, Maddie, Peyton, Gioya, Gabbi, TOna, McKenna, EJ, Gileysa, and LaNesia returning, you ought to be able to find a core around which you can fit your freshmen. Send the returnees to boot camp over the summer.

I believe you will see changes also, but because of the personnel coming in not because of what we have. Trying to run the offense we are trying to run now with Nancy coming in would be plain stupid. Just my opinion, but the current roster does not fit what Sherri is trying to do. Looking at the current roster and the closes you get to a star is Gioya if she can get heathy and back to or close to what she was before the injury. We are in desperate need of a PG in the 2018 class (I would say 2017, but believe it is to late) or we will be hurting badly. Rich may be able to step in and help immediately or we can always hope. Sherri has some good recruits coming in just not sure you can call them great, but time will tell. Her staff and her need to hit the streets hard and sell Nancy unlike when Courtney was here. She just didn't bring in great support.

Good luck with that. There were any number of "star" players/top recruits that visited OU when CParis was there, BUT they did not VERBAL and SIGN. Several others wanted to go to OU but the coaching staff was not interested and did not recruit them. Some of those two groups have gone on to teams that won a NC. Go figure!

Name several (5 - 8) players who wanted to sign with OU who we turned down who went on to win national championships.

We recruited just about half the class of 2005. I can't think of names off the top of my head right now but I know for a fact we turned several down due to the fact they did not "fit our system" Some of them being Oklahoma players. Their was a rant about it over on insider a few years back. Paris twins needed a supporting cast desperately. All we had was shooters until DROB, Ny, and Amanda Thompson arrived. I don't even think Sherri expected the Paris twins to sign, it was very unexpected. They were locked in on going to Cal or Texas

Very rarely do freshmen come in and have an immediate impact. They all have to adjust to college ball and most need time to develop.

I'm not exactly sure who you are referring to here. Our class in 2005 was Paris, Paris, and Winchester. We were actually recruiting Arrairan, and she talked to the twins about OU. Then, she went to Texas. But, we lost Walker and Lam when we recruited Paris: up two, down two.

Our 2006 class was Olajuwon, Thompson, Hammond, Plumley, and Stevenson. Three stuck. Two didn't. We had some pretty salty guards, but they all had knee injuries: Chelsi, Kendra, Erin, Britney. If it had been one, OK. But, we lost every guard we had at some point.

As far as turning people down, I hear rumors. I have never seen facts.

Sade Wiley Gatewood visited OU when she left Tennessee...won a NC at Maryland. Danielle Adams wanted to attend OU...won a NC at TAM. Danesha Stallworth wanted to attend OU...she went to Cal and later transferred to Kentucky (she was better than any post player OU had during that era.)

You are talking transfers, one a two-time transfer who had had some problems. Sade was a sub who had already been sat down in favor of a freshman point. She gets no credit for contribution to a title. Stallworth was 6-1. Also, we had recruited over both of them. Never heard about Adams. Where did you get your information?

I spent several years at A&M back then. If you think Danielle wanted OU over A&M you have been mislead in a significant way. She was an excellent player though.

What "era" are you talking about? Better than Courtney?

Stallworth was in the same class with Nicole Griffin. Stallworth would have taken a visit when Paris was a senior. Adams wanted to visit OU...denied.

You may be right about Adams. Not the first time I've heard that so I'm not going to say if it's 100% true or not. But, I also do know for a fact we were in Sydney Colson's final 3(went of to win a NC at A&M as well) anyone know how we missed out on that one?

Only thing I see is if there are no changes, then nothing will change

Problems? Who doesn't have problems? OU players don't have "problems"? Whatever "problems" you're referring to and to whom...clearly other successful coaches dealt with the "problems" Frieze and Blair must be good with "problems".Who was a "two time transfer"?

Gatewood orchestrated a great win over UConn while at Maryland and contributed significantly while there. She was better than any guard OU had at that time. Stallworth was/is 6'3" and was significantly better than Griffin. Adams couldn't even get a visit.

Where did you get your information? I've never posted anything that was not of a very, very reliable source when it comes to recruiting at OU. They lucked up on the Paris twins and they have never been good recruiters. When they got "lucky", they didn't even capitalize on it by recruiting top players. I guess they all had "problems".

EDIT: ...and remember. Bo Overton and Erica Arriaran should be credited with the Paris twins to OU.

Stallworth was in the 2009 class, at the time OU had a good chance at signing Kelsey Bone and Joslyn Tinkle... But I agree she would have been a big help to OU...

The Stallworth fiasco is particularly disappointing because she WANTED to go to OU. From what I understand, she always looked up to the Paris twins. Hansmeyer was on top of it and basically had closed the deal. My source says that SC would not get in the recruiting process and talk to the parents when they had questions and/or needed information. They were relegated to only speaking with Hansmeyer.

Any recruiter worth the salt that goes in bread knows to offer Bone, Tinkle and Stallworth. Hopefully you get one of them and the process then takes care of itself much like it did after the Paris twins signed at OU. Ernessia Williams went on to Texas. When the Paris twins gave a verbal to OU, Ashley Walker gave her verbal to Cal. That's just how that game works. The only anomaly I can remember is when Olajuwon followed the Paris' to OU. Now that's FRIENDSHIP! But OU really didn't take the best advantage of that either. Olajuwon should have been subbing for C Paris ....but that's another lick on a dead horse.

Bay, we get it. You hate Sherri. The only reason you come to this board and have ever come to this board was to promote the Paris Twins and express your contempt for Sherri..

The Hall of Fame of basketball rejects your image.
