If Udoh/Dunn come back next year for Baylor

I say false and it has nothing to do with Scott Drew. To me its KU's to lose. Not saying they can't but I would still say KU.

Depends on who kansas loses (should be Henry and Aldrich IMO, plus Collins) and who they bring in (no idea who they'll get commitments from, but they'll be highly rated).

I'll admit that my view of Dean Smith was always skewed by my hatred for UNC just like my view of Scott Drew's whipping boy (Barnes) is skewed by my dislike for UT. But Smith arguably underachieved with Jordan, Perkins, Kenny Smith, Brad Daugherty and James Worthy. Lot of NBA all-stars there including the best player of all time. The joke was who is the only guy that can hold Jordan to under 20? Dean Smith.

Thompson recruited out of his mind but his teams seemed to play undisciplined in the early 80s. Boeheim same deal. His early 80s teams with guys like Pearl Washington were talented buy erratic. Point is good coaches/recruiters do improve and eventually get all kinds of street cred. Of course, I look back and see that I was wrong about all three of those guys. Just like many on here will say the same thing about Drew 10 years from now.

Now that I am a little older and have watched 1000+ games, I understand how hard it is to win even with great talent. The coaches who can do it and sustain it are all elite coaches.

I get what you are saying. Sometimes it takes a while to appreciate what a coach is doing. The difference with most of those guys is that they all made it pretty far in the tourney pretty quickly.

It sounds like you just didn't have proper perspective. Smith never finished lower than 3rd in the ACC after 1966. That is ridiculous. Not to mention 11 Final Fours. Now you could say he should have won more titles and you'd probably be right but just ask Bob Stoops how difficult it is to win more than one.

Thompson went to the NCAA tournament 20 seasons in a row and made 3 Final Four appearances. Boeheim's had only 2 seasons under 20 wins in 30+ years.

I think it's a bit soon to begin comparing Drew to those guys. They had instant but sustained success. Drew deserves a TON of credit for turning around the biggest mess in NCAA history. His teams have 3 straight years over 20 wins, that is tremendous. But let's wait to see if they can win a NCAA tourney game before we start saying he's a great coach. :)

I think KU loses Henry and Aldrich. I think even if they don't sign Josh Selby (who most think KU leads for) they will have a great shot to win it again. They will have a ton of talent back and be really good defensively.

PG: Tyshawn Taylor

SG: Brady Morningstar

SF: Travis Releford

PF: Marcus Morris

C: Markieff Morris

Bench: Elijah Johnson, Tyrel Reed, Thomas Robinson, Jeff Withey, Mario Little

I think that lineup can play with anyone and give them the best coach in the league and they are a dangerous squad.

Scott Drew is coaching KU next season?

KU will finish higher than Baylor next year. I'll be willing to bet anyone otherwise.

Not only did Colorado take KU to overtime, but they did it without their most talented player who averages 17 a game. I would say thats a big loss.

CU beats KU by 10 that night if Burks plays, and it never goes to OT. CU was doing everything right and KU was missing free throws like crazy, but they didnt have the best freshman in the conference.

$10k for charity?

Come 'on man I'm not betting $10k. And thats illegal anyways.
I'll bet you and winner gets to change the others avatar and put whatever quote they want at the bottom of their posts for a full year.
Bet?

I would suggest a bet where the loser gets banned for a specific amount of time, but I'd hate to lose DFW. He's the best non-OU poster on this board.
