In-State 2022 recruit Ada HS Kaden Cooper

If he loves to play D and plays physical sign him. He’s a sick athlete with handles. Looks like he made some 3s in there. Hopefully they weren’t his only 3s ever LOL.

What is competition like? He's clearly the best athlete basically every game he plays in. Good size, could be a legit wing defender at next level hopefully.

If we offer. I think he'll be ours. Once we get Rylan Griffin on board, Cooper should be next offer. (no formal offer yet)

With the uncertainty of seniors returning, how many can OU take in '22?

i think we can take as many as 4 but depends on if we take a 2021 transfer. (which is likely.) which they would be gone if they are grad transfer.... But that would limit 2023 class.
this years juniors could stay...
I think Harkless and gibson would be 2 candidates that would come back but purely a guess.

Maybe I'm confused just like some of you on the rules!

It is confusing. I'm hoping that Harkless and Gibson consider themselves sophomores this year and come back next year and the next. In a normal world they are juniors this year. So, it stands to reason they will be back next year anyway. But the free year has ramifications down the line with guys that aren't seniors. Who knows? All these guys may want to get paid and leave. Just makes available schollies such a moving target. Maybe Lon has an idea about all of it.

I hope you’re right about both players. But Griffin is an elite recruit with blue blood offers, which usually means the decision may be late in his senior season. If you’re also right that Cooper is ours if we offer, I hope we don’t slow play this kid and watch him go to another school in the end.

Kaden Cooper is not just a good basketball player with a high upside, he’s a fine young man from a great family. In other words, he’s the type of recruit Lon Kruger likes to sign!

Me too! I like Kaden’s connections to OU. He attended Trae Young’s elite camp in 2020. Played on the Buddy Buckets team in 2019. It would be nice if we invite him to continue the trend.
