In-State Players

Would you say his game is like Jamal Crawford?

To me, he has a scaled down version of Durant. He can shoot the 3, he has the handles to go to the basket and uses his length to make plays.

Kevin is a great athlete, but in my opinion is smooth more than explosive. That is how I see Shake in the future when his body catches up to its growth.

Jamal has a change of pace to it, Shake is more of a smooth accelerator.

In the 80's and 90's the Tulsa area was producing a lot of basketball talent.

It isn't the same now and that has affected TU basketball some too.

I still wonder what would have become of this guy if he had made better choices.

Both kids at Ft. Cobb are freshmen. The point guard has been to visit OU, the sg has been to OSU some.

The biggest reason kids do not have great fundamentals now is they play more than they practice. It is great they are playing more than they used to, however at a young age practice is very important.

This is a problem everywhere, but luckily the tide is starting to turn a little. More and more youth hoops organizations are moving to the European soccer model which puts less emphasis on games and more on training.

your right, it wasn't Lee. The jest is of the statement was that year there were multiple D1 players out of that class. Don't want to forget Daryl "Choo" Kennedy out of the 1982 class also.

Kennedy was Class of '83 from Northwest Classen. He was in the recruiting class with Tim McCalister, David Johnson and Chuck Watson.

I hear that Coach Long may try to get a college job in the recruitment of his son.

Greatest Tulsa-area HS basketball player I ever saw. So smooth.

Not only what would have happened with him, but with OU as well. He was committed to Kelvin before things went south. That was back when Kelvin wasn't landing kids of that talent level. I don't know how he was ranked nationally, but still to this day I haven't seen a better HS kid from this area.

Look at some of those names from the 90's. Sheesh.

WT what is funny is James didn't commit, Criddle did. James surprised me when he told me that.

His head coach at Rogers until his senior season. I may be spelling his last name wrong, it is either Criddle or Crittle.

James was a good guy, but a follower. Once Hump and Marcus graduated he went down hill fast.

WT James finished at Rogers in 98. He went to Bacone the next year before going to Jail.
