Is Cezar Guerrero a "program changing" recruit?

I agree. You have to recruit players like that, but you also have to be able to manage them. That is where Capel failed miserably. While TMG and Tiny are worthy of criticism for some of their actions, Capel is also deserving of criticism. As a coach you are basically the "CEO" and are responsible for "managing" your talent.

The fact is that TMG and Tiny could have been STUDS at the college level. Unfortunately for everyone involved it didn't work out.

I heard someone else talk about the failure to MANAGE these players... I hadnt thought about it like that, but i think its the truth.
TMG and Tiny are NOT the only bad character kids in HS bball, you have to know how to manage them properly...

Well it's pretty obvious that Capel has no freaking clue how so he needs to stop pursuing those type of players. There was a reason why Kelvin never went after the blue chippers because their pri madona attitudes wouldn't have lasted a day in a typical Kelvin Sampson practice.

So every coach needs to be like KSamp? I was huge fan of KS, but not every coach can win like that, in fact VERY few can win like that...

Who should be going after? Be specific if you can please!

So does someone have a serious, non-flippant jerkstore response to this question?

he said he wanted to slow down and really enjoy the process this time so my guess is it wont be until right before spring signing day. But that is just a guess based on quotes i have read here from him, not any insider info

Where did I say we need to replace Capel?

Thank you.

Player wise... Not capel, sorry for the misunderstanding!

Simple. Get players that are all about we and not me, give 100% effort on both ends of the court, go to class, be a model citizen off the court and don't go stealing clothes from the mall, etc.,etc,etc., those are the kind of things that I want in a player.

The 2002 OU team had no McD's and they went to the FF and would have won the whole thing if it wasn't for the injuries.

I think the 2000 team could have won if Eduardo and Mateen Cleaves had not had that epic collision at mid court!

You have those players for the most part right now! Enjoy this homeboy! Ace McGee wasnt perfect, Detrick, Ere, J Brown? All those guys are model citizens?

LOL, none of those things actually win basketball games at this level. For all we know Hardrick could feed neighborhood kittens every night at 6 and bust his azz everyday in practice, but he still would never allow us to beat anyone but Tech. School for the Blind and Deaf Tech that is.

Homeboy? :ez-laugh: Anyways..... you don't seem to understand what I am saying. :facepalm

True except for winning the whole thing b/c I believe that they should have beat Indiana w/ those injuries.

But that 2002 team was made up of 5 JRs and 2 SRs. They were an experience team. Next year our team will be made up of 2 SRs and 5 JRs. Experience makes a huge difference.
