Is OU better than the team projected 10th?

Big, why waste a second of your time analyzing the doormat that is Nebraska basketball?

Make yourself useful in life.

I just dont think Nebraskas players have a high ceiling. If Cam and another freshman/ newcomer comes in and plays at a high level, then we are better than them. If the freshmen struggle we will finish 11th.

Who gives a crap about Nebraska? Honestly. At least who would on this board? Unless we are playing them next week, who the heck cares? We play them once all year. It was hardly determine the season.

Who gives a rats butt about Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado of frickin OSU for that matter?

I come to this board to find out news about the OU BASKETBALL TEAM. Not to see a dozen posts by the same poster telling us how great those other teams are and how much we will suck. It gets so old.

ABD, I for one appreciate the insight...am not just a fan of OU, but enjoy all college basketball in general. Please continue to post line-ups, stats and analysis in the future.

Gracias.

I appreciate the effort too abd, it's just odd to hear what appears to be sunshine pumping for Big 12 foes on an OU fan site.

This thread is more about OU than Nebraska... apparently that went right over many-a-folks head.

I don't view it as sunshine pumping at all. Sub the accolades for skill sets and that is what every OU player receives on their scouting report.

I like the cut and paste jobs as well; however, I do not like it when there is inconsistent logic used in the discussion that generally is dismissive of OU.

That said, it is all opinions, and the good news is that the teams will actually play out these "hypothetical" match-ups on the court.

Blair/Newell/TJ
Cade/Pledge/TJ/
Cam/Pledge/Neal
Thompson/Washington/Neal/Cam
Fitzgerald/Thompson/Ahmed

I think that this a group that "should" be able to compete with NU, it just is...and I don't see how anyone can say that what NU is throwing out there is "clearly" better than what OU is throwing out there at 3 or 4 positions on the court.

Not to mention, the game is at home, and, Nebbish has to play in the north (funny to finally say that before a season starts). That means two each against KU, KSU, and Mizzou. I will be utterly disappointed if OU finishes below Nebraska.

Unless NU shocks the world and wins the conference....based on the cut and paste from the OP, you almost have to give them a shot at it.

Looking at that makes me really concerned about our frontcourt.

But do you think the team make-up overall is competitive with what NU is throwing out there?

Absolutely...was just talking overall. Standhardinger is the best (and most versatile) of either sets of forwards, IMO.

Yes, and better than 9, and maybe better than taco tech also

I guess it went right over my head too. You made a post about OU compared to Nebraska, and now it's a free flowing conversation. The thread becomes whatever people discuss in it, it doesn't have to adhere to the theme of the threadstarter. Are you saying we should be discussing OU this year? Or we should be discussing Nebraska this year? Reading back through the posts it seems everyone is comparing OU to Nebraska (which was the title) or saying you are overvaluing Nebraska (which was your 1st post). Exactly what are people doing wrong.

We are showing support for OU on an OU board. How Dare We

i dont know why you guys give any credibility to this ADC guy.. all he does is post these numbers that players from sucky teams put up in juco or there "stars" from rivals.. but the thing is it doesnt matter what a kid put up in highs school, in juco, what they were ranked. you toss all of that out at the beginning of the season every year...

secondly, this dude talks about players that he has never even seen.. ADC says that Nebbish's PG will be better than ours? who cares.. the guys knows nothing about our new pg's.. i dont either.. however, i expect them to do good because we are on a higher level than neb.. but talking about players you havent seen is completely retarded.. I knew that keiton page would play at osu because i PLAYED against him.. you should love his numbers he put up in high school.. o wait.. didnt play juco

please guys just get over it.. the dude is nothing but some guy pretending to be a basketball analyst but he knows nothing.. who cares about stats in juco? (look at chris walker's numbers in *gasp* a juco!) there is more to a player than stats.. look at Cade.. but nevermind im sure the powerhouse that is ne-freakin-braska has some new juco that put up 16 and 8 in the jayhawk conference.. give me a freakin break..

we are oklahoma, we are a top 20 program, capel got us to a great level that i hadnt seen in a while but then we took in some players that didnt mesh.. simple as that.. now there gone and we will rebuild.. now if only we could get some juco's who averaged 22 and 20..

Christian Standhardinger is a more talented player than Nick Thompson. Like campbest said, Thompson was the 3rd or 4th option on his juco team. Standhardinger (with no college experience) put up the same numbers as a freshman in the Big 12 that Thompson did in juco. Im sorry that you have never seen the kid play, but he is good.

There is more to winning basketball games than the stat line reads. Picks, help defense, hustle, etc. Dennis Rodman wasn't a scorer at any level he played. But based on the fact that he didn't average a lot of points, a lot of block shots, and that he was undersized he wouldn't make ADB's junior high team.

have you seen thompson play? who cares if he was the 3rd or 4th option maybe the other guys were really good.. players can surprise people.. this kid's play is not dependent on his juco numbers..

i had no "pub" or anyone thinking i was going to do much because i never got the chance in middle school and my parents didnt play the politics but then i went to high school and was a 3 year starter and all stater
