Who gives a crap about Nebraska? Honestly. At least who would on this board? Unless we are playing them next week, who the heck cares? We play them once all year. It was hardly determine the season.
Who gives a rats butt about Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado of frickin OSU for that matter?
I come to this board to find out news about the OU BASKETBALL TEAM. Not to see a dozen posts by the same poster telling us how great those other teams are and how much we will suck. It gets so old.
I appreciate the effort too abd, it's just odd to hear what appears to be sunshine pumping for Big 12 foes on an OU fan site.
I like the cut and paste jobs as well; however, I do not like it when there is inconsistent logic used in the discussion that generally is dismissive of OU.
That said, it is all opinions, and the good news is that the teams will actually play out these "hypothetical" match-ups on the court.

I think that this a group that "should" be able to compete with NU, it just is...and I don't see how anyone can say that what NU is throwing out there is "clearly" better than what OU is throwing out there at 3 or 4 positions on the court.
Not to mention, the game is at home, and, Nebbish has to play in the north (funny to finally say that before a season starts). That means two each against KU, KSU, and Mizzou. I will be utterly disappointed if OU finishes below Nebraska.

Looking at that makes me really concerned about our frontcourt.
But do you think the team make-up overall is competitive with what NU is throwing out there?
Absolutely...was just talking overall. Standhardinger is the best (and most versatile) of either sets of forwards, IMO.
This thread is more about OU than Nebraska... apparently that went right over many-a-folks head.
I guess it went right over my head too. You made a post about OU compared to Nebraska, and now it's a free flowing conversation. The thread becomes whatever people discuss in it, it doesn't have to adhere to the theme of the threadstarter. Are you saying we should be discussing OU this year? Or we should be discussing Nebraska this year? Reading back through the posts it seems everyone is comparing OU to Nebraska (which was the title) or saying you are overvaluing Nebraska (which was your 1st post). Exactly what are people doing wrong.
Christian Standhardinger is a more talented player than Nick Thompson. Like campbest said, Thompson was the 3rd or 4th option on his juco team. Standhardinger (with no college experience) put up the same numbers as a freshman in the Big 12 that Thompson did in juco. Im sorry that you have never seen the kid play, but he is good.

have you seen thompson play? who cares if he was the 3rd or 4th option maybe the other guys were really good.. players can surprise people.. this kid's play is not dependent on his juco numbers..
i had no "pub" or anyone thinking i was going to do much because i never got the chance in middle school and my parents didnt play the politics but then i went to high school and was a 3 year starter and all stater
