Is Sherri going to make some changes?

When your point guard of 3 years has to ask the coach what more can I do? There is something wrong with both the coach and the player, and the coach should have an answer!

Let's not get too carried away. Remember that this team is not getting blown out. The irritation is that with one or two plays per game, this team could have won all but maybe one game. We need to get their attention, not their blood.

Is the season lost?? Nope.
Are there serious cracks. Yep.

Sherri usually rights things after a rocky start to conference play.

The biggest concern for me is the real level of talent on the roster?
Is it really capable of winning a Big 12. Too many freshman, not enough
upper classmen. Manning getting hurt again appears to be have been a
critical blow.

Maybe Sherri needs a "Cotton Bowl ATM game" like scare to shake things up??
Things may have gotten stale and recruited talent may have slipped?

You are right Syb, but this team is blowing double-digit leads regularly this season, I believe.

Sherri should fly in Whitney Hand and go get Joanna McFarland out of pharmacy school and have them get on this bunch and shame the crud out of them.

I misread your post the first time. I thought you said beat the crud out of them! ;)

I think this team does have the talent. We almost beat a good Louisville team, and should have. We found out too late that we could play with Duke. UCLA---I have no answer. We were lethargic and non-thinking against Marist. Now, in two OT games against good teams, we blow leads. We have looked totally unglued in our three OTs this year. It seems to be a lack of concentration, not ability.

We do seem to need something to shake them up, get their attention. It must come from within. Since Vegas is not a vocal leader type, you would think this would come from Morgan. But, I'm not sure that Morgan knows how. In my perfect scenario, it is Griffin who comes out of her silence to say, "Enough!"

The changes/solutions have got to come from Sherri. You cannot have the team coaching themselves or we will never see any improvement.

Obviously, a coach has to do something in a situation like this. What that might be, I don't know. Most coaches have a wide and varied bag of tricks. But ultimately, there is no switch a coach can flip to fix a problem. Each player has to take ownership of their own performance and do whatever it takes to get better.

Leader or not, I think Morgan gives 100 per cent each game.

I agree. She isn't a great player but I think she has been very solid since taking over at the point for DRob. I really think she has played out of position but I give her credit for doing her job to the best of her ability.

The only gripe I have with Morgan is her tendency to dribble too much in the offense, but she is tough, plays solid, and does do a very nice job, though I do agree she is better suited at the 2 or 3.

I know Sherri is limited in what she can do for poor shooting other than perhaps working the ball quickly for better shots, inside/out, etc.

There is one thing she can do, Start bring in players who can actually shoot the dadgum ball, not some with the potential to shoot it some day in the future. And how about getting some real basketball players in the back court instead of stand around shooters who can't shoot more than 20%.

You're right, it all starts with recruiting.
