ISU up 3 so far. The scoring barrage took a while to get going, but it's finally happening. Some may disagree, but I think Niang is the best player in the conference....and it's not even close. The stats may not back that up, but the guy has so many skills for a man his size....it's almost unfair to ask a big man to try and guard him.

Tough to beat KU in Lawrence, mostly because you play against the refs, too. KU reaching every time down the court. Never gets called.

KU up 7 at the break. ISU played out of control the last several minutes and KU hit some 3s....and there's the difference. ISU even looked a little fatigued near the end of the half after the early frantic pace.

You have to be almost 20 points better in Lawrence to win by one. It's been a hell-hole of crooked officiating since the 70's.

KU blowing them out now. ISU can't hit a shot. Especially from the perimeter ..... Except for Niang.

Well crud....it looks like KU is well on their way to their 11th straight conference title. I just don't see them losing more than 3 games the rest of the season...which means we would have to win out in order to tie them.

On the bright side, I think 2nd place is very much up for grabs and our schedule is favorable down the stretch....if we can develop some game to game consistency.

Bill Self is a great coach, and KU is a great program, but they shouldn't be able to do this. The Big XII needs to step it up and produce a team that can challenge them. The league is always deep, but never particularly great at the top it feels like.

Hopefully buddy returns and everyone else add our newcomers and I think the big 12 crown is ours in 2016:oldwt356:

Similar to a few years during their Big 12 title run, I don't think this year's KU team is that much better than the rest of the league. However, I believe one of the main reasons that KU is at the top every year is because they minimize losses to bad and mediocre teams. Very rarely over the last few years have you seen them lose to bad/mediocre teams (exception TCU 2013). They simply sweep most of the bottom half or the bottom two/thirds of the conference usually. Thus they don't end up with more than 3 or 4 losses. No other team has that consistency or has at least half of our league psyched out like they do.
