It's official: Dante Buford is a Sooner

Totally forgot he was announcing this morning, awesome news. Did we finally win a recruiting battle with OSU? They wanted him didn't they? I think they have a couple spots left in their class

2015-16 has always been the year we were set up to make a huge run, and with this class it's just solidified.

We have the possibility of starting 4 seniors in Hield, Hornbeak, Cousins, and Spangler (although I suspect Woodard will have moved into the starting lineup by then), with a bunch of talented sophomore bigs coming off the bench, and Frank Booker providing an offensive spark off the bench. A team that heavily loaded with seniors is the type of team that can make a final four run.

With the comitts, it is starting to get real exciting looking at the possibilities that are ahead for our program.

Well, I can offer up a quote from one of the assistant coaches that may shed some light on the team's future prospects. This came before the class started to verbal, but, after they knew how it was shaping up. He said, "we are saying to coaches around the league that if they plan on getting us, they had better do it this year. Because, starting next year, we will be able to play with anyone."

Ever since we signed the Cousins, Hield, Hornbeak class and got Spangler transferring in I've had my eyes on '13-'14 .500 or so, '14-'15 NCAA bid, adn '15-'16 hopefully big things.

If we were ".500 or so" this year I'd be pretty disappointed honestly...

I doubt Cousins is ever really a starter, as i assume that's you're assumption as well. He's not good enough at the point, and to me not the wing either. He plays too out of control and frankly, Buddy and Jelon are better players. I'm not as high on Cousins as others on the board. When all is said and done I see him as the third best guard on this roster possibly passed up by Booker. That said, I think he will be a good bench player throughout the next 3 years and glad we finally have the depth to have talent coming off the bench.

I imagine that Cousins will start tomorrow.

I'm sure he will start some this year, although I think Woodard will make the majority of the starts at PG and Jelon at 2 but i could be wrong. Next year I don't see him starting barring injury or violations. If i'm wrong we're obviously better than i think which would be great.

I think it will be Woodard, Cousins, Buddy, Cam, and Spangler tomorrow. Kruger will most always have his starters together for the final go thru the day before a game. That is how they were this afternoon.

How does Hornbeak appear to be taking it?

I don't think that there are any issues with this team. If todays group starts tomorrow, Hornbeak will still get as many minutes as any of them.

Hornbeak will play starter minutes so it doesn't really matter. If Cousins plays 10 minutes at point and rests 10 minutes that is 20 potential minutes for Hornbeak. If Hield rests 10 minutes that is potentially 30 minutes for Hornbeak. I seriously doubt it will work out exactly like that but the point is all four guys could easily play in that 25-30 minute range. The X factor is Booker and Neal.

They way it looks to me is that Tyler is Cam's back up and will get his minutes there. Bennett backs up Spangler. Bennett and Spangler could be on the floor some together. For now and until his shots start falling, Booker is probably looking at 8/10 min.

I think that we will try to run till we wear them down. That could result in several mix and match lineups in spurts.

I will say this. Booker had a good practice today. Bennett was hosting his own personal block party.

Is this dude one and done?

Is it just me or does his j resemble KD?(not saying he is KD, just the stroke similarity.)
