"ive came to the point where I jus wanna go to school ... "

Its not hate...its just frustrating to hear this from TMG and WW when everyone was telling him this. The kids left for no money guaranteed. They were better than that. It hurt them financially and it hurt this program. Again...its not hate, its just frustration.

Hard to blame Willie totally for what he's going through. These kids grow up wanting to get paid and be heroes in the NBA. They never really follow a college or have any allegiance to a university. That's just a stepping stone to their dream. They burn bridges while in school trying to get to the league as fast as they can, and when they get there, they realize for the first time in their lives that they aren't the best ever, that life is hard, and that they have responsibilities. And then the realization comes that maybe college wasn't as bad as they always thought.

At the same time, Willie has to grow up and live with the choices he made.

My only problem with the first part of your comment above, is that WAY MORE college athletes.....and probably way more of the ones that end up in the NBA, don't act like that. Those Duke kids are legends/studs/idols, but they don't act like that. For the most part, you can say the same about the NC and KU kids.

My point is, there are plenty of kids in the exact same situation that Willie was in, or IS in, that don't act like he did or does. It isn't Willie's situation that made him act the way he did. It likely had more to do with upbringing, and stuff like that.

That is why I'll always appreciate and respect kids like Hollis and Eduardo that did everything the right way while at OU. Hollis had everything working against him growing up, and I've never heard a single story of him acting like a punk. Why? Because his grandparents raised him right.

this. except TMG is not "hate" just very much dislike. especially the way he left the program

The only one I have any real problem with is TMG.
Willie was a damn good basketball player who brought a lot to our program, and I think is currently getting a bit shafted under the guidance of basketball wizard Vinnie Del Negro.

Tiny improved throughout the season last year, and I believe would be a valuable addition to our team this year if Taliaferro hadn't screwed that all up.

I don't think it was just unibrow who screwed things up, he may have been the scapegoat, but it was a team effort.

:ez-roll::ez-roll::ez-roll:

The guy is going to practice everyday, and he is making an NBA paycheck. He vented a little on a Social Networking site, and now everyone is sure that he made the wrong decision. I'm a full grown adult with children and a career. I vent at times by questioning some of my decisions, but at the end of the day, I get everyday, go to work, care for my family, and except and ENJoy my life. Some act like WW is on the verge of suicide because he left OU early.

The guy is living his dream, and if he continues to work hard and wait his time, he will be ok. Not every successful NBA player is Blake Griffin good. He's a young guy who is learning how hard life can be. I see no reason to do anything but support him. If that isn't possible, just ignore him......

Why all the hate for WW? What did he do to merit hate? I understand TMG and maybe Tiny but WW?
This is what happens when grown men (I use the term men loosely) live vicariously through athletes.

Sadly I must agree. It also shows the biases that fans have. A guy like Bosworth, who was one of my favorite players all-time, absolutely bashes OUr school for yrs in the media, etc, and he asks for forgiveness and most Sooner fans love him. Many never got mad at him in the 1st place.

You take a Malcolm Kelly, a guy who was always a good player/representative of the Univ, and he has one bad moment, and even today, you mention his name on a Sooner board, and the bashing starts. Why is that??? I have my theories, but I know that this isn't the forum for them.....

Lame to play the race card. But you are right, this isn't the place for that discussion.

I still haven't got my Bobo's chicken, but thinking I'd rather try Mama E's instead.

O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D!!!!!!!!! clap, clap, clap, clap, clap.

You know that Bobo died, and some of his kids took over the business. Not as good as it use to be, at least the last time I tried it. I know one of his biological sons( he had many kids), and he is trying to redo the business himself, like his dad taught him. He is locked in a court battle with some of his step siblings, the ones who he says STOLE the business when his dad died.

Mama E's was ok, but for the coin that she wants, the food was not all that....

I'm pulling for Willie. I think he is in a difficult situation right now with Vinnie. Don't know if it is personality thing, or what is going on, but Willie has done well when he has been in games.
Then again, who hasn't wished they could "go back"?

Everyone believes they understand the pressure these guys are under. We don't.

As usual, I agree with you. Good points, IMO.

Who is Willie suppose to be taking minutes from?

Here is a list of guards that have played for the Clippers this season, that are better than Willie Warren:

Eric Gordon
Mo Williams
Baron Davis
Randy Foye
And IMO, Eric Bledsoe (though is one might be close)

They've been thin at guard in recent weeks, and Willie has played more. As people get healthy, he'll play less.
