Some of the tweets... can he bring Sister Jean, LOL

The question he a candidate like Turgeon was and a candidate like Lincoln Riley is for every NFL opening, or is there mutual interest and conversations?

If he is a true candidate, other than his offense production rankings, I would be very excited about the possiblity. More so than any other name mentioned thus far.

Like is it a reasonable reality or just material for another story.

all the nfl teams pretty much do want riley ..... Turgeon very likely wanted OU and joe C said nope.

I think the fact that this is coming out a reasonable time after the Kruger retirement speaks volumes over the bigger national guys putting Turgeon's name out there when they did.

Plus, I think Goodman is more in tune with this type of stuff.

Why do we think Moser is a great coach or a great fit here? He has only won 55% of his games as a head coach and has no ties to this region afaik.

IMO, if we are wanting an established coach go after Altman or Beilein.

I'd rather have McCasland or Mills than Moser.

But the most exciting names are Najera and Kellen.

Look at what he's turned Loyola into over the years. It's pretty remarkable & his recruiting ties to the area are most attractive.

I'm good with McCasland & Mills too. Or Beilein. Altman is not happening!

What recruiting ties? Those from being an assistant at aTm in the early 90's? Or those from being at Ark Little Rock from 1998-2003?

Those aren't very good recruiting credentials. That was nearly 20 years ago.

Moser is a good coach but I worry about his ability to recruit top talent to OU.

Ties to the Chicago area!!!!! When recruiting kids to OU. Tons of talent in that area.... highly rated or hidden talent.

Hot name from his 2 runs, but I don't think it'd be a great fit.

lol, he isn't going to be able to consistently recruit guys out of that area to Oklahoma. That is crazy to think that he will.

That's not true! He has built relationships with schools that Loyola probably couldn't attract, but OU can!!!

And those kids are most likely growing up watching/liking schools from that area that are, at worst, comparable to OU.

JMO, but I disagree. OU is going to need to be able to recruit this part of the country for most of our talent. That has been true historically, and it's true now.

Just like football recruiting, sometimes kids just want to get away.

That's what you have assistants for too, but the Chicago area would be a great option.

Which is why a guy like Moser would have to have guys on his staff that are familiar with and have recruited this area.

Limiting ourselves to head coaches from this area is pretty silly. And, as someone living in Chicago with kids playing sports here, those ties will help him potentially pull a kid or two - and there's a ton of talent here.

I'm not 100% sure I'm sold on Moser as the option, but I think not having ties to Oklahoma is a pretty silly argument as long as he can get a guy or two on staff with ties to the area.

It doesn't need to be consistent nor does he have to rely only on that segment of the country as long as he gets an occasional starter from the area who makes a difference.

I agree. It's a very dense argument. You close off 90% of the candidates by thinking that way.

Now, I'd rather have someone like Anthony Grant, but Moser is a damn good option!
