Colorado state guard. Eligible immediately. https://twitter.com/jonrothstein/status/725505391342149632
It sounds like he has speed and quickness. With Cousins gone we really need some additional speed.
Yeah I dunno if he will start(and that may be a deal breaker for him) but he would be great off the bench. A better Walker if you ask me.
If he comes and the plan is to keep Wood on the wing, he'll start.
I would imagine IF he comes, yes...he'll start over Strong. He has D1 experience, only here 1 year...def more "on surface" positives than Strong.
I'm sure if Kruger is offering it's to be a starter.
Kruger isnt offering starting jobs. Those are earned. He's offering a opportunity to play for OU. If he starts then, hes earned it.
I doubt he has seen him live very much.
I'm not a fan of this. Seems like we're sacrificing all of our 2/3 guard talent, to keep Woodard on the floor at the two spot. I want James/Odomes/Grandstaff/McGusty on the floor as much as possible this year, so we can see what we've got, and they can get experience.
Of course he's not offering a starting position, but I have to believe that the expectation is that he can come in and start. To use a scholarship on a 5th year guy to be a backup PG doesn't make much sense for us or Gillon.

If the staff sees Woodard as a 2, then that means there currently are no PG's on the roster with only Strong coming in. Bringing in Gillon at the least adds depth at PG.
Woodard was the backup PG last year and started the 2 years before that.
And we had Cousins and Walker as PG's on the roster.
Walker wasn't a PG, Strong is expected to be one. We aren't offering this kid to take Walker's minutes, that would be pointless for us and him.
Walker was brought in as a backup PG combo guard. He just wasn't suited for the point at the D1 level so he played the 2. LK likes to have 3 guards that can play the point if necessary. Gillon is a PG and Strong and Woodard are combo guards. Lon loves his combo guards.
Strong would likely see Walker minutes this year with Gillon and Woodard rotating at Point and then hopefully Young and Strong next year.
