Dang, Jones must have did a number on his back. The kid at OUI is back and mentioned he wouldn’t be surprised if Jones and Nwankwo both medical RS this year. I would probably do the same if I was them because it gives you another year of NIL haha.

I’ve not heard anything about that rule actually being implemented so I assume it isn’t in place this year.what I think may happen is Jones comes back and plays the maximum amount of games he can and then gets a medical redshirt, also. I forget what the % games played is though. 30%?
I think nwankwo sits out whole year.
No! We need to push all of the chips in THIS YEARThe kid at OUI is back and mentioned he wouldn’t be surprised if Jones and Nwankwo both medical RS this year. I would probably do the same if I was them because it gives you another year of NIL haha.
I would have never thought OU could get him back before Jones.Wild that nwankwo is this close.
That's freakin nuts and seems backward. Id rather have it backward too IMO. Use jones save nwankoI would have never thought OU could get him back before Jones.
Our first conference game is in 18 days. If he doesn’t start full contact till after Christmas, it’s hard to envision him playing in a game that quickly after six months off.If Nwankwo is full contact in 10 days he probably should be playing by start of conference play right? Interesting time to try to figure out a role.
Agreed. Even if he’s “back,” he should probably redshirt.I don't see Jones playing at all this year. Nwankwo is now a maybe although it'll be hard for him to get in the rotation at all in conference play.
He came from JUCO so maybe two?Does nwanko have only 1 year of eligibility left? If he plays this year, he’s done?
My thoughts on redshirting have not changed through the years. I always felt that if a guy could crack the rotation, he should play. 20+ years later, I still cringe at the thought of Jason Dietrick redshirting the 2002-2003 season order to balance out the classes since we were already losing the like of Hollis, Ebi and Quannas...still can't help but think we would have gone further with Dietrick in the lineup. Dietrick was arguably our best player on the 2003-2004 team, but that team was Kelvin's only team that did not make the Dance. Forget hindsight. I just never liked the idea of redshirting a valuable player on a team that was a title contender. The stakes aren't as high now, but Moser needs to make the Dance. As such, it has to be all hands on deck if a guy can contribute.
If Nwankwo or Jones can play, play them but this isn't like it's a healthy scratch with Dietrick pretty much was. It's gonna be tough to find a role in conference play that's as good as the SEC is this year.My thoughts on redshirting have not changed through the years.
