I can't help but notice that Lon Kruger picks up quite a bit of junior college players but SC almost never does. I wonder why this is? West Virginia picked up Davenport last year and she's been very essential to that team's success!
So I guess my point is that it isn't like there aren't talented players out there to choose from. anyone have any idea? Is it because SC wants them from day one so that they acclimate to her system from the beginning?

I've been told Sherri looks at transfers like she looks at walk-ons. She has no use for them and really doesn't give any of them a look

What I have been told by former athletic department personnel is that if she didn't recruit them and approve them, she doesn't want to deal with what was someone else's problem.

In other words, the player is trouble or if Sherri didn't recruit them and they transferred from who did, she doesn't think they are good enough to bring to the team.

SC has had 3 JUCO transfers since 2002:
Portia Durrett (Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the year)
Jelena Cerina
Maria Villarroel

Yes which is not very many at all and 16 or so years! Maria was the most noteworthy one and produced the most for us. The other two were essentially worthless as far as production goes, maybe were great leaders though, I'm not sure.

I just wish that she were more open to looking there to fulfill needs that we don't have currently and would need immediately, like big post players for next season. Hopefully Bloom is talented and true to her listed height but picking up another worthwhile big girl maybe even a grad transfer would be almost essential next season, in my I see what coach is trying to do and having mobile under-sized posts but we don't have the fundamentals and the skill set that teams like UCONN, DEPAUL have in order to pull that off

As a general rule I do not think that JUCO's normally have the academic standing to meet Sherri's personal recruiting profile requirements. I know for a fact that many H.S. prospect that were highly rated and had strong interest in OU were not given an offer because they did not meet Sherri's profile.

Sorry I can't provide the details and keep my source.

That's silly. If they meet admission requirements why isn't that enough for SC? I mean, that could be why we don't land some amazing recruits and our recruiting classes aren't at the top! Seems like an easy fix to me. But SC is in charge and I'm not. I've always wondered how schools like Stanford are able to get such great recruits every year. Is there another set of standards for athletes there?
