Kansas is the next Nebraska

LOL @ the North being better than the South. 4 teams from the Big XII have been to the final 4, 3 are from the south.

Taking a micro snap shot of this season will not overcome the huge demographic shift occurring in the United States.

The same crap was said by Nebraska fans in 1996 when the Big XII was formed. Where are they now? Running away defeated.

Take a look at Nebraska/Kansas population growth since 1970, then look at Texas/Oklahoma. It's over. The fat lady is singing and Kansas will be crying just like Nebraska before long.

LOL. What's population growth have to do with basketball?
If KU relied on recruiting Kansas kids only I'd agree. They don't.
Your posts make no sense.

Exactly. KU's roster according to state:

Kansas
Kansas
Missouri
Maryland
New Jersey
Arizona
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania
D.C.
Illinois
California
Nevada
Kansas
Texas (Walk on from Lamar)

The OP makes perfect sense.

In fact I have it on good authority that Stoops and Self have been talking about the doom that await when each visits the other's campus in their respective sports. Bob sees the NC running through Lawrence and Turner Gill, just like Bill sees a number one seed going out the window when facing Capel in Norman.

It's really going to be fun watching this unfold.

Even though Texas is our heated rival I always pull for them vs Nebraska and Kansas.

It's going to be hilarious watching Kansas' dorky fans decline into a tailspin like Nebraska and blaming Texas, the Big XII, Dan Beebe, etc for all their shortcomings.

No more softy Big XII North for Kansas in basketball that padded their record.

It won't be long before Kansas fans will be whining about the Big XII being all about Texas just like Nebraska football fans before they ran away with their tail between their legs.

Once they have to start going to Norman, Stillwater Austin, College Station, Waco, Lubbock every year they will be exposed just like they usually are in the NCAA tournament.

The power is shifting south in sports just like it is in jobs and wealth and there is no stopping it.
When the Big 12 breaks apart, KU will be heading to the Mountain West or to C-USA.

I'd say the strength of the Big 12 is pretty well distributed between regions at this point.

I know I'll be glad to see every south team having to play in Columbia every year.

OMG Kansas lost a home game they are obviously in an unstoppable tailspin to mediocrity

I am pretty sure nobody in the North is overly concerned about coming to Norman right now. From 1983 through 1996 yes they did not like to come to Norman. Now Norman is like going to Boulder. It simply doesn't get any easier.
Why on earth did you stop at 1996??????

And we will be equally happy to see all the North teams come to Norman every year, just as hard a place to win as Columbia.

Basketball is an entirely different scenario from football, simply because geographical proximity isn't as vital. You only need a couple guys to impact a basketball squad each year, in football that is greatly multiplied.

That's why a regression in football for Nebraska is much more plausible than KU in basketball.

Besides, KU lost a home game for the first time in 5 seasons. I hate them just as much as anyone else on the board, but the sky isn't falling for them.
