Kruger probably knew exactly what he was getting with Grooms. Good enough to get Blair off the court. And buying some time until he got a better one.
Cousins is likely the better one. He is a freshman and all that. It may take alittle time for all that to work out. Grooms has been playing basketball all his life. This off season won't transform him into a good outside shooter. While I don't believe he is as bad as he performed last season, He is probably a 30-32% caliber shooter. That along with his niftyness at all other aspects of the point gauard position may be enough to enable him to hold on to the majority of the minutes.
But, like Ada, I'm predicting that Cousins will be a handfull for Grooms.
