KU vs UK

Unique collection of talent for Kentucky. I don't think I've ever seen a college team with this amount of length and talent 1-10. They look like they play hard too, which is bad news for the rest of the country if it continues.

Kansas making a nice run to end the half still down 9 though...Self already played 8 guards I think....

UK looks very talented and big, like you said. I could see them enter the tournament at 30-2.

this is why I think KU will not win the Big 12 this year: they do not have the kind of guards they have had in the past. They struggle to shoot the 3, which crowds the lane with their skilled bigs.

it is unusual watching the Kansas guards looks this ineffective in a big game

Either Kentucky is really, really, really good, or Kansas is not as good as they've been in the past.

I think it's the latter. I watched part of the KU-Washburn game as well as KU's game against UC Santa Barbara. They don't look nearly as good as in years past.

That can change, though. Self is a good coach.

Everyone thought the KU demise was going to be last year. Give them time. Thing about conference play is they do not lose at home. Ever.

Kansas is simply overmatched. But Kentucky is going to "overmatch" most everyone that they play. They have ridiculous length and athleticism, but they will find a way to drop a few games before all is said and done this year. I think if you can find spacing or a way to spread them out, then you can take away some of their length advantage, especially if your shooting well from outside on a particular night.

Kentucky might go undefeated.

If they place solid D every game with their size and athleticism and depth, they could run the table. But they won't. They will be favored in every game and be upset in a couple by a hot shooting team.

Pretty sure Kentucky was losing to buffalo at half time. They are everyone's favorite to win it all but they aren't going undefeated.

A grop of 18-20 year olds who can keep their focus for an entire season without taking any nights off is truly rare. In basketball the better team doesn't always win and that is especially true when it is young people playing.

Selfishness will be their biggest threat. You've got guys who are going to star on some NBA teams who might not score double digits or playing less than 20 minutes a game.

Their leading scorers had 11 and 10 tonight. That will get old when you're a guy used to putting up 30.

Last year they looked average till conference play. Losing 4 non cons They don't look near as talented as they've been but Self is still their coach and he seems to know how to get his teams ready come conference play. Now I do think OU, Texas, and Iowa State are much more loaded than the past. The Big 12 should be the best in the nation top to bottom. Still can't doubt Kansas as long as Self is the coach.

No one looks unhappy to me....

They've bought in, and Cal can sell it to anyone.

All he has to say is that Anthony Davis took the 5th most shots on the national title team, and still won National Player of the Year, National Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Final Four MVP, and an Olympic Gold Medal with Lebron and Kobe all in his freshman season.

Do you think after hearing that, that they care if they score 30 or not?

Like I said, no one looks unhappy to me.
