Lattin not shaking hands

I would usually agree but given the circumstances I know Khadim and company wanted to win and were very upset over the result. I like Khadim's fire and wish more of our players had that in them. I liked when Cousins got in Mason's grill after dropping a bucket on him. If we want to continue to play at a high level then we don't bow to anyone and keep that chip on our shoulder.

I teach and coach ms. I bet I don't hear one kid Monday mention anything about him not shaking hands. Anybody wonder if maybe he was a little emotional after the game thinking about Grandma.

They have been dealing with maturity issues with Lattin most of the time he's been here. Nothing major, but little junk that adds up over the long haul. If you notice sideline decorum Lattin is always the guy who is first with the primal screams and the demonstrative high stepping.

Now normally I don't have a problem with that, but our opponents have called him out on numerous occasions. I believe it was several Cyclones who made a point to look for Lattin after their win in Ames. He talks an awful lot of trash.

I wasn't personally bothered by the failure to shake hands (he'll get his butt chewed out for that), but what got me is that after he fouled out Christian James made a point to rub the back of his head in a "we'll get past this, bud" manner and Lattin slapped it away. There's no place for that crap as far as I'm concerned. Not here.

He's 19 years old, just got spanked in his hometown, and lost his grandmother this week. He was hot, and it was the wrong time for Christian James to rub his head. I have no problem with it. They're All good in the locker room.

But you are an example to kids looking up to you. Sometimes things don't go your way in sports, but you still have to show sportsmanship.

Maybe we'll get lucky and none of these impressionable kids you're so worried about follow Andy Katz on Twitter.

Shaking hands is the dumbest part of college sports. I dabbled in pro baseball, we never shook hands in a line after the game.

+1.

The sooner the post game hand shake obligations are gone, the sooner a post game hand shake will actually mean something.

And he fouled out, to boot. Kruger will mention it to him. He'll grow from it and everyone will move on.

Mountains from mole hills.

Almost as classy as Jay Wright having his starters in with 5 minutes left in a blowout . Nova has a game in two days , not only not classy but pretty stupid on top out it .

It probably wasn't lost on Wright that when we had them down 30 at Pearl Harbor, Buddy, Cousins and Spangler were still in the game. For the record, Spangler played 37 minutes, Buddy and Cousins 36 minutes.

In some circles, that's called respecting your opponent enough that if you let up they might make a run and overtake you. I'm sure Wright was thinking his starters are going to have to go 36 minutes or more against the Tarheels so they need to be ready to run end to end.

Wright said in the post game that he left them in late because he wasn't taking any chances.

That sounds dumb but I don't blame him.

I promise that LK isn't complaining.

That's laughable. I don't care that he left them in, but it had reached the point of mathematical impossibility.

What's funny is that, if it had been the other way around, and a Villanova player did this, you'd be ripping them to shreds, calling them classless.

A lot of coaches, maybe most, don't know the math of any play or series of plays and most couldn't care less even if they did. Wright probably had no idea when it became a "mathematical impossibility." Additionally, 2 teams lost tournament games last weekend when they had more than a 99% chance of winning so I don't blame him 1 bit for leaving his starters in at least until the under 4 timeout. That's probably what I would have done

A lot of coaches won't put their scrubs in until the losing team's coach puts his in. With the exception of Odomes, we didn't put ours in until there were about 3 minutes left in the game.

For me, I couldn't care less. Play the game out. If he doesn't put his scrubs in, he's missing out on a chance to get those kids into a final 4 game. Any Sooners who want to whine about it should've played better.

The onus is on the losing team's coach to waive the flag by removing starters, not the team that's ahead.

Non-issue on both fronts

After we had won by 44 points? I really don't think we'd care.
