I know I'm preaching to the choir here but I always forget how many people leave after the under 8 and under 4 timeouts regardless of the score. I bet half of the lower section emptied during the under 4 timeout. I know it took me 20 minutes to get from the parking lot to I-35 on highway 9 but come on you can't stick around for another 10 to 15 minutes and enjoy the atmosphere and support the kids that busted their asses to send OsU home a loser again?

Steps off soapbox

It is what it is. At least they came to the game! That is a big positive. In the big scheme of things, leaving early is a minor issue.

It was a great crowd.

Yep!

At the K-State game, there were multiple people who left at the end of regulation. I was shocked. Seriously, why would you sit through an entire game only before the tipoff of a 5 minute extra period? To save 20, maybe 30 minutes tops in traffic? I guess everyone has their own priorities, but that makes absolutely no sense to me.

They have to hurry up and get home so they can sit their lazy a$$ on their couch...

I won't leave when the outcome is in doubt, but I will always dip out early in a blowout. Sitting for 30 minutes in the Lloyd Noble parking lot is one of the msot infuriating experiences out there.

Just happy there is people there to leave early. I was there for the Michael Neal 1 man show comeback against ISU. Never leave early.

Not all basketball attendees are baskeball enthusiast like those that post here and the chance they may miss something of significance at the end of the game. Also on weeknight games fulfilling work and children requirements intercede as their primary requirements. Basketball just is not that important. Then there can be the spouse factor of them not being a real fan of the game.

Leaving at the start of an overtimes? Beats me!!!

It's been a problem for many years. I've posted several times about the Missouri double overtime loss a few years ago that was played in front of 9 to 10 thousand, then the first overtime was in front of 5 to 6 thousand then the game ended with about 2000 people still there. I truly don't understand the have to beat the crowd argument. I live in south OKC and I never leave before the final horn and I am always home in 25 to 30 minutes, max. Of course I'm a many year fan/season ticket holder and I have my favorite route, but all I'll say is, don't go highway 9!! Kind of lame to me to say at least they come, but, oh well, I am glad to have more people showing up!!

Yes, this has been a problem for many years and yes, there is NO explanation! Of the 13-14 home games a year, probably 6 or 7 are on a weeknight and if getting home at 9:45 makes a big difference from getting home at 9:30, I just don't know what to say!

Sorry it is not the norm but we had to leave at the 3 minute mark to save Grandma from our 6 week y.o.!

This is a pet peeve of mine, especially on the close games. My guess is at least 1/3 of the crowd will leave by the 4:00 mark. On blowouts it's even worse. And I'm not sure about sitting in the LNC parking lot for 30 minutes. We stay until the clock shows zero and park a couple of rows from the east side middle in the donor lot. I don't think I've never taken longer than 15-20 minutes to get out on Imhoff.

For us folks that make the drive from Tulsa every game, it's frustrating to see empty seats or people leaving early. Like it has been said, those 10-15 minutes isn't a huge difference, even for those that take 2 hrs or so to get home. Would love to be home 30-45 minutes after a game!

Understand there are those with kids or circumstances that require thm to leave, but wish we had a more passionate fanbase for hoops beyond the 2-3K that seems to support through thick and thin.
