Count me on the Terry Evans ticket if we strike out on Pastner and Buzz. Fact is that every other coach would be WAY more expensive than Evans and the fan base would be apathetic. At least with Evans we have a guy who is one of us and wants to be here for the long haul. It is sad that it has come to this, but seriously, if we have to take a gamble on a guy like Jones, Cuonzo Martin, or Marshall, why not gamble on Evans with much less money?

All anyone wants to talk about is not making it far in the tourney with Chris Jackson and Shaq...forgetting all about the 79, 80, and 81(FF) teams, losing 7 times to the eventual NCAA champion, and the '86(FF).

In fact, that stupid "freak defense" he devised that catapulted the 86 team to the FF (as an 11 seed mind you) should be enough to show anyone he knew his X's and O's.

I'm at the point now where if we can't get Buzz I'd just say to hell with it and hire Evans. Flame me up, guys.

And I'm absolutely shocked Tech got Gillispie for only 800k. Wow.

This is where I am at...flame away at me too. If you can't go get a guy like Buzz to come back to Oklahoma then it is because of money. He sounds like the perfect fit and the perfect candidate IF you are willing to spend money on the program.

Terry Evans is at least one of us, has solid regional connections and comes at a reasonable price. BCG to TT for $800,000.00 sounds like the deal of the century IF he stays out of trouble.

Tony did a previous poll which he called an "epic fail" because he listed Pastner twice.

Anyway, the previous poll was if Buzz is out of the running (since Marquette won last night and most people believe Joe won't want to pay what it takes to get Buzz with his value on the rise) then who would you want instead?

Capel's a more proven coach than 3/4s of these yoyos.

If these are our options, bring in Geno. Program's already collapsed, why not swing for the fence. Geno would either be a bust and keep us in the toilet (ie, no change in current status), or he would be a grand slam. He's a proven leader and manager, knows how to coach his way through a championship.

OU will never be a basketball school until after its won a national title. You can same thing about Purdue, Texas, Illinois...None of these coaches, except for Tubby Smith (who is way past his prime), has national title cred. We can go after a Mark Turgeon type of coach who can take us to the tourney every year but never get past the first weekend, but we'll be stuck in the same mire of the past, just only knee deep in it instead of neck deep.

Swing for the fences, we have to leapfrog other programs, not catch up to them.

Yesterday I voted for Brad Stevens, but I was told he signed like a 12 year extension, so thats out of the question. I did l mention Terry Evans, but I do like another option of Terry Stotts. He is an OU gut head coaching experience.
