Awesome! About time. I'm still in favor of building a new basketball arena, something like Virginia did, but if they can make LN look and feel like an actual basketball arena then I'm all in.
They need to build as many suites and luxury boxes or areas as possible. Those things bring in the cash and would help get those people off the damn floor where they don't show up 90% of the time.
Hopefully give the students an actual area where they are a part of the game.
I would also like to see them rename the court after Wayman Tisdale.

Build it and they will come!!!

Amen on the suites & luxury boxes and renaming the court in honor of Wayman!

i would bet that any renovation adds 8-16 suites like the maybee center has

Ribbon board, Suites, crow's nest for the band, and a capacity under 11K and most importantly - fixing the seating to make the donors that buy and no-show on the westside (the non-TV side) and I will be happy!

Call me clueless, but aside from the newness and the color scheme, I don't see that much different about Michigan's arena and LNC. Perhaps the lower seats edge closer to the court -- it's hard to tell from the pictures on their site -- but the angle of the seating doesn't seem terribly different from what LNC has now.

That's like saying there's no difference from the OKC arena and Lloyd Noble, I noticed the concourse on the Michigan site and I'd say its closer to OKC than Lloyd Noble

I was talking about the seating areas; I don't really care about the concourses, and based on the complaints that are regularly registered here and on other boards, they're not a big deal to most other fans either. But the inside of the arena, where the game takes place, comes in for constant criticism, and I just don't see that much difference between LNC as it exists now and the remodeled Michigan arena.

LNC renovations are obviously overdue. I am really excited about the potential that there will be some major work done on the arena. If we can keep the winning up, these upgrades could really catapult OU back into the good old days of deep runs into the tourney. Recruiting is bound to improve some when this is completed.

Has anyone heard any info/leaks on this? Wonder what was the timetable of the firm hired to complete a Master Plan of LNC? They also may be trying to find major donors before announcing the MP and thus first steps of renovations.

Lon said yesterday there's no timetable for when OU will announce something but he did say OU is looking at either renovating LNC or building a new arena.
