I think Charlie Strong had a buyout where the offset went down $1 for every $2 earned. I suppose to incentivize him to get a higher paying job after being fired. I always thought that was a pretty good idea to avoid a guy for working for peanuts at the next job on purpose. He could go coach a mid-major for $100,000 next year and we'd be paying him the difference (a much bigger amount).
Semantics....we are going to debate the levels of cheating?
Kelvins was enough to get a show cause. He was a blatant REPEAT cheater. Not as egregious as Wade but willing to repeat it.
Not to mention, some people would say Wade getting guys $$$ isn't much different than NIL. I don't agree..I think he's a snake.
My point is more that he is willing to overlook rules. Doesn't matter if they are legal now, etc.
Read it for what it is..
Not what you want to hear. Your moral compass vs mine doesn't really matter.
Like I said...Bob Stoops oversaw Pastagate. Rules are rules, right?
Donors were pissed after the football season, and 1 coaching change happened, due to poor performance. Alley left on his own, and BV fumbled that, as well. So I don't think the donors care.
I'd be interested in knowing all of that story, too.Joe c is way more involved with the failure of football than basketball, so there is less movement there bc hes staking himself on football imo. If the story of what supposedly happened with thad turnipseed ever gets out it'll be a crazy day
The driver’s seat to merely making the tournament. I want more than that…I wanna be up there with schools like Bama and Auburn. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be, but that will take more NIL than we currently spend. That’s what I was referring to.Stop blaming it on NIL. If we beat Texas, A&M, and LSU (all coaching failures), we’d be in the driver’s seat.
THis is the way it should be. Don't want BMD dictating these things. Or we end up like texasCan confirm, BMD wanted Seth L fired the week before. It was supposed to happen. Joe and BV gave him another week, against donor wishes.
But I know that to be true at least, midseason.
I don't have any insider stuff other than that.
I get your point, but Texas is whooping OU’s butt in basketball and football.THis is the way it should be. Don't want BMD dictating these things. Or we end up like texas
I'm talking strictly football here as it is the big driver.I get your point, but Texas is whooping OU’s butt in basketball and football.
That's exactly right.I'm talking strictly football here as it is the big driver.
UT is only kicking OU's butt in the very near term. And I imagine a large part of that is UT letting sark run things the way he wants and gives him the support he needs.
In most instances I agree...except when you go from a Top-15 offense to a bottom-10 offense. I think the BMDs are completely in their right to demand a firing after some of the worst offense we have seen since John Blake;s crew.THis is the way it should be. Don't want BMD dictating these things. Or we end up like texas
WrongAgain, we are NOT in the bottom 1/3 in nil spending. If we are its PM’s fault. The $$ are there.
Then show me where you get your figures. Cause I say your wrong.Wrong
OU is in the bottom 1/3rd of the SEC in NIL for basketballThen show me where you get your figures. Cause I say your wrong.
Wow only 14.5? Seems like free money unless UF has it on cruise control.
what’s the line for the entire game? 14.5 is until the first media timeout, no?
