It is no secret the LNC is not the intimidating force it has been at times in years past. I think we all agree some things need to be done. Right now we are not building a new arena, so let's work with what we got.

Please add some other ideas.

1. Find a way to still get football donor money, but don't tie it to the best seats that end up not being used.
2. For the short term "close" the top half of LNC? It's dark up there anyways. Put a tight black or OU logo tarp around the top sections of seats, that goes X rows down and makes our capacity smaller. LNC has always been too big in my opinion. If we found a way to make the arena looks like it holds 8-10k, Everything would look full and it would have a better feel.
3. Move all students down behind the enemy bench and/or behind the bench.

Any other ideas?

rebuild the fieldhouse, fewer people but better basketball venue, profit.

I agree, but we know that is not happening in the short term. It would cost minimal dollars to use some of my suggestions and shield makenthe place feel like more of a basketball arena that could be intimidating again.

The point of the thread was what tweaking can we do. I don't know anyone that isn't for a field house type arena.

It is no secret LNC is a concert venue, too far from campus with too many seats. But the fact is we have had that place rock before. I think to do that we need to shrink the seats until the wins and excitement flow.

I agree that retraction makes some sense but I'm not sure it would make much of a difference. At the end of the day you still have the same amount of fans in the arena. The only true remedy is excitement and passion.

Hollis Price suffered 4 losses at home his entire career at OU. That's how many OU lost this year.

Tubbs is even more amazing. Billy had a span from 1984-1990 where OU lost a total 2 home games total. Not 2 games per year, 2 games OVERALL.

LNC can be pretty intimidating and a tough place to win.

everyone knows that the fieldhouse would be the best venue if we'd just finally commit and pull the string.

that said, I respect taking the responsible financial route - but our arena will ALWAYS be second rate and a strike against us until we finally do it.

I agree with a smaller arena nearer to everything in Norman than the LNC, but it just isn't likely to happen.

Home side of the scoreboard with more points than the away side.
