Anyone catch the bit about how Kruger's "good friend Jeff Capel" told him a bunch of positive things about the players? Tell me more about how Capel is trying to torpedo the program.

He said positive things about the players, if that doesn't prove he was trying to torpedo the program, then I don't what will.

I liked how Kruger said and used the word fun and opening practices was big time stuff

Just looking at that place again during the press conference makes me miss a great basketball venue. Something like that (renovation of the fieldhouse or building another in campus) would be huuuuuge for marketing and program support, I would think. That's obviously no small venture.

The LNC was built in 1975? Was that the style of new arenas then? With 17.1 mil spent 10 years ago on renovations including the practice facilities that they are very high on, it's hard to imagine them abandoning the site.

They don't hafta abandon it. It can still be the practice facility.

You don't have to abandon it. It can be used for other functions. It also houses the practice facilities and offices. Please put me in a rectangle gym please!
 
Why not use the LNC for concerts, practice and women's games?
 
McCasland would be SOOOOOOOO much better. We need a real basketball facility and not some basketball/rodeo/cowboy concert/beauty contest/4H annual Hybrid center.
 
couldn't they use the football facilities as well and add on a practice court?

Why?

I'd guess there are a lot of successful programs that have a basketball/rodeo/cowboy concert/beatuty contest/4H annuan Hyrbrid center.

And we've won there, and won BIG there (LNC).

And we've had pretty solid fan support when the teams were good.

The only thing going to a smaller arena will do, is a) increase attendance for the first couple of years, and b) make the arena look more full when we play the little sisters of the poor.
