Lon Kruger Press Conference Discussion Thread

Translation: Terry Evans, come on down!

1. it increases student attendance
2. being on campus also increases non-student attendance
3. looking more full when we play the little sisters of the poor is a very big deal so I wouldnt foo foo it
4. having to devise a more difficult schedule to look more full is a bad thing
5. LOUDER and MOVES more

Why?

I'd guess there are a lot of successful programs that have a basketball/rodeo/cowboy concert/beatuty contest/4H annuan Hyrbrid center.

And we've won there, and won BIG there (LNC).

And we've had pretty solid fan support when the teams were good.

The only thing going to a smaller arena will do, is a) increase attendance for the first couple of years, and b) make the arena look more full when we play the little sisters of the poor.

I think the biggest problem with LNC is that it's basically away from campus, that's the biggest problem with the LNC.

Good on Sampson and Tubbs reaching out.

YoYo stays!!

One thing I really like about a guy like Kruger who has been around awhile - he doesn't mind letting people hang around. He doesn't mind letting former coaches hang around and be associated with the program. Sometimes young guys feel threatened by that, it seems. I think it's good for the program.

Never thought I might visit a basketball practice, but that sounds pretty cool!

I used to watch Tubbs' team practice all the time.

Sometimes a GA or someone would come and ask me who I was but when they found out I was a student, they said it wasn't a problem.

Tubbs was funny to listen to with more four letter words than I had ever heard in my life, lol.

The more I watch Kruger, the better this hire looks.

On-campus basketball would be great, but would only be full if we were successful again. From what I saw, the on-campus arena in stillwater was pretty empty this year.

I remember on-campus baseball south of Owen Stadium when alot of students stopped by for an hour or two of baseball.

What was the question he was asked, where he responded that he wasn't going to go there?

Saw many a game at Haskell Park after classes during the spring time. It was a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed being at the welcoming ceremony/press conference/whatever it's called. Stoops actually ended up sitting right in front of me...:woot

Kruger said we're all welcome to come to practices. Anyone know if it's possible to find out the schedule for practices, I really want to go to some.

What was the question he was asked, where he responded that he wasn't going to go there?

He was asked who was responsible for their being 17 minutes late to start the press conference. Dean asked it as a joke when Kruger said he values being on time and that he'll be on time.

Thanks.

OMG stop the stupid questions.

Didn't we appoint a redundant question monitor?
