Based on watching 3 or 4 minutes of this game, I would hazard a guess that Simmons won't foul out on Saturday.

If Jordan and Buddy are the ones taking the majority of them, I'm perfectly ok with that as long as we get our fair share

If you consider one-third of the free throws "our fair share," then tonight's game should leave you feeling hopeful.

I don't even want to watch a game in which 80 free throws are shot, but if I must, I'd sure like to think we'd shoot at least 35-40 of them. If we lose that game against the Golden Boy and his band of underachievers because they shoot 54 free throws, I'm going to take it hard. Really hard.

Bottom line is that LSU doesn't know how to win a game. They've been doing this all year. Even if they play well, I think we win because we know how to get it done in the crunch.

80 FTs total and 54 for LSU

The final stats show LSU with 55 FTs vs 24 for Georgia. A 31 FT advantage is tough to overcome. Its amazing the game was as close as it was: 89-85.

The ESPN announcer asked Ben Simmons after the game why he has just tried 3 3-pointers all season. He was only 10-17 from the line. I think he's just an average outside shooter, but he has great handles for a 6'10" kid and is an uncanny passer. Kind of a young Magic Johnson.

I think I agree with the poster yesterday. Play tight defense on the other 4 players and play him straight up. Who's going to guard him?

I'm not sure if Simmons is a good shooter or not. He doesn't really look to shoot much from outside of 6-8 feet. Before LSU got Victor and Hornsby back into their lineup, that was one of the criticisms of Simmons....that he didn't go get his shot enough.

I think Cousins will some - he is athletic enough to stay with him. If he posts Cousins up, then Lattin will provide help defense. No one really matches up with him and Buddy may be tasked with guarding him. Would be an interesting thing to discuss....

I really think we should give him space on the perimeter. He's a tough match-up for us, but not like Niang who can beat you inside/out. I don't want Khadeem to end up guarding him, even in the post, because I want Khadeem to provide weak side help against him.

obviously that won't happen...

lsu 54
georgia 26 ATTEMPTS!

lsu made more than georgia even attempted.

Now, I will pref this by saying I only watched the last few minutes when bulldogs had a shot to tie or win after being down 10 under a minute.
