March Madness - Friday Games

He can score inside/outside, has the size to rebound and is a great free throw shooter. What's not to like? He doesn't play for us.

It floors me every March that some of these smaller schools have bigs that would start for OU.

I know that is the case for a lot of P5 schools probably, but I'd much rather get a guy like ORU's Obanor, who is from Houston btw, then most of the guys we currently have. Obanor stepped on the court as a true freshman 3 years ago and scored almost 15ppg, while shooting great percentages.

If ORU can get SKILLED and ATHLETIC big men, I'm not sure why OU can only get athletic ones. Frustrating.

Why didn't Kelvin get him?

Why didn't Kelvin get him?

Yeah, good point. And speaking of Kelvin, I will say this. In the first round, he was a disaster at OU if seeded lower than #3, but he definitely took care of business in Round One as a top 3 seed...usually won without any drama. Houston should roll tonight. I may not be a fanatic like WT, but I will be rooting for Houston.

Maybe someone can convince Meemias Queta to transfer from Utah St to OU.

If he entered the portal he would blue blood offers. I remember watching him a year or 2 ago and came away very impressed. Would love to have him.

How in the hell was Tennessee a 5 seed? They looked awful from the tip.

That brings back a nice memory being at the OU-Ole Miss game in Columbia, SC two years ago. To quote the OU band: "S-E-C ! S-E-C ! S-E-C !" It was just too bad an angry Joe C had to spoil the fun :-).

Don’t look now but North Texas is about to take out Purdue.

I think coaching in the NBA made Kelvin Sampson a better offensive coach. I'm often wrong, but I don't see Houston getting seriously tested until the Elite Eight. Also, unlike at OU when Kelvin struggled mightily in toss-up games (1-6 when seed separation was three or less), I think he will win most of them now.

If we lose tomorrow, I wonder if Gibson will regret transferring.
