Marcus smart just hit a fan!

Big 12 coaches got to weigh in on this today. Here's a link, good stuff from WVU's Huggie, but the most important was from Tubby Smith:

The brief skirmish happened just a few feet from Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith, who was asked if a racial slur was directed at Smart.

“I wouldn’t know,” Smith said. “Who would know? They interviewed everyone around him ... our administration and (athletic director) Kirby Hocutt interviewed everyone around him. From what I understand, no one else heard it.

While Tech fans are grade-F trash in many instances, I strongly suspect that Marcus misheard (hence yelling and pointing from court "Don't you call me a n-word" afterward) and that nobody called him the n-word. Hell, Tubby is bringing the program back and a lot of his players are black. Why would that giant, supportive crowd take a big win (they rushed the court afterward) and ruin it with racial slurs?

My friend was an offensive lineman in the 90's for Bartlesville. His father worked in Tulsa and received a letter and a visit from a so called "Booster for Union" who advised they would find them a nice house for cheap if he would come there. He turned it over to the governing body, but they were given a slap in the wrist and that so called booster was bared from being a booster at union. Other schools tried to. We had a few good players but overall were not that good so schools attempted to get our better players to move.

Never heard this story. Who was the player and what year was this?

Nm, I will send you a private message so I don't take this thread off topic.

He didn't "mishear" anything. He was trying to cover his butt, b/c he knew immediately that "piece of crap" wasn't enough to justify his actions.

Glad that Smart was suspended. Said earlier in the thread I thought he deserved 3 games and still think that is just.

Too bad I'm going to miss the OU/Okie State game on Saturday (and the Tech game on Wednesday). Here is to the Sooners rolling both teams.
