Markel Brown

I honestly haven't really watched you guys play that much; I thought Paige was lights out from 3-point line? Are teams guarding him differently or what? Other than OU games (which I can barely watch), I've barely paid attention to this season.

Page can shot and is a very smart player just not a great PG. Before the Baylor game he had been in a slump for the last 5-6 games. His size makes him take tough shots and he has been playing close to 40 min. a game. I know you guys think he flops a lot but if you watch him he also takes some big hits too. He is on the floor with 9 guys that are 6-12 inches taller and 50-100 lbs. bigger, it doesn't take much of a hit for him to go flying across the floor. I think he is just running out of gas.

Also being a great athletes doesn't make you a great bball player.

I wouldn't know enough to say whether he flops a bunch; like I said, I hadn't watched. To be sure though, he'll probably drop about six threes against OU.

abd hit the nail on the head about OSU... point guard play has been bad this year.

I think people really underestimated Fred Gulley last year. He wasn't flashy and didn't score much, but he ran the offense really well, could really defend, and didn't turn it over. Losing him for the year turned out to be a really big loss... far more than Darrell Williams, IMO.

I think if Gulley doesn't get injured, OSU is probably a tournament team.

To the point of this thread, I've LOVED what I've seen from Markel Brown this year. He's obviously very athletic, but what I like most about him is his body language. He's just one of those guys who plays very hard and you never see him complain or look discouraged... and he's steadily improved all year, which means he's been responding well to coaching.

Markel Brown REALLY reminds me of a little bit more polished version of Desmond Mason as a freshman -- from the sheer athletic ability to the good body language and attitude.

If he works as hard as Mason did to improve his game, the sky's the limit for this kid.
