Oklahoma is the dark horse so do not be surprised if he chooses Boomer Sooner.
Lon Kruger has been a darkhorse his entire coaching career. Lon has put out a number one pick recently and so has Oklahoma. Bolden can do very well here. Good luck to him either way.
I just have a hard time thinking hes going to pick a school that quit recruiting him. When making one of the biggest decisions in your life, you just don't forget that. I think we would have had a way better shot had they recruited him from beginning to end without giving up.
In the end, he might be a kid that we could have gotten had we recruited him better.
To be a top 10 kid in the country out of high school and for me to have to ask another kid why they aren't recruiting me. That right there just makes me think we have no shot. I hope i'm wrong.
I am sure it went down just as you are describing...
*rolls eyes*
I guess you don't read articles with quotes in them. Its out there. Just keep rolling your eyes...it suits you.
The story I read is that he contacted McGusty to ask why he had not heard from OU. That led to an official visit.
Can't remember where I read it, but it's definitely out there.
OU had actually quit recruiting Bolden as they thought we didn't have a chance. However, Bolden contacted McGusty and asked why OU wasn't recruiting him. McGusty contacted OU and the result is Bolden coming in next weekend.
We have a much better chance at Bolden than people think. In fact, I think we may be the leader at this point. He loved his visit and his dad is coming around. He sees that he can come to a top 10 program and push us over the top and not be just another cog at Duke, Kansas or Duke. Plus he can play more than 15 or 20 minutes a game as he would at Kentucky. Look for him to make another visit with his mother soon.
Ranked No. 16 overall in the senior class, Bolden says that he simply isn't ready to make a choice and didn't want to rush it. "I am still unsure and have a lot of doubts in my head," said Bolden. "Knowing I still had those doubts I didn't want to sign until I'm sure.
"I could really watch teams play more and see where I fit in. Also I could continue to talk to each staff and see what kind of relationship I can develop with them."
His Oklahoma visit came after Kansas and Bolden enjoyed Norman. "That visit went good," said Bolden. "I had a lot of fun on that visit and I learned a lot about Coach (Lon) Kruger and how he handles things up at Oklahoma, so that was good."
To be in that company on a phenomenally talented guy that we even gave up recruiting on speaks to the levels kruger has taken this team
Report is its KU, Duke, and OU in final 3.
I know its not earth shattering but we'll see what happens.
