Marques Bolden - No new information

I get that we're not at the level the big 3 are on, but "start something new"? Perhaps Coach K and his staff can fill Mr. Bolden in a little bit. We've had a good deal of success, and he could help us build on it, for sure, but I would say we're closer to the big 3 on his list than TCU is to us.

I understood what he meant. At OU, he'll be a star from day one. At UK or Duke, he'll be on stacked rosters with multiple McDonald's All Americans. If we could somehow pull Bolden and Trae Young, we would be in really great shape for a long time.

Yes, I get it, too, but I also got the feeling he may not have a good sense of where OU stands, as far as its basketball tradition. Can't hurt to let him know we're not as big a step down from his Big 3 as he might currently be thinking. Then throw in the start-right-away factor, and we've got a very solid case to present to him.

The best way to show him how close we are to them would be to keep winning this season.

He's going to be a star no matter where he goes. Who on Kentucky's team last year or this year isn't a star?

The only thing different is that he would be the face of Oklahoma instead of the faces at Kentucky and Duke and so on.

The kid is going to play no matter where he goes.

I think we just said the same thing in two different ways.

SoonerScoop has a small recruiting post today re Young and Bolden. It's pay so I don't want to state specifics. Suffice to say that Bolden and Trae are friendly and OU is in okay/good shape with both. Nothing that hasn't been expressed here really.

I replied to the Scoop thread. I don't buy the package deal rumor..... they reported it as such. Bolden is a 2016 recruit whereas Young is 2017. Bolden could be gone by the time Young gets there. Bolden says he is likely to make his decision in the next month whereas Young still has 11 teams on his list...... but he has a year to decide.

Why don't you want to say?

You have a constitutional right to speak. The information is not confidential, it has been published. Cutting and pasting their work is wrong but discussing it is no big deal.

It is so odd to me that people act like they should not discuss articles published on the internet at a pay site. Would you discuss an article in Sports Illustrated? You have to pay to purchase Sports illustrated. Would you discuss an article you read in the local paper? You have to pay to get the local paper.

I guess there's always a chance that Bolden could play a second year...Maybe he doesn't quite get the draft grade he wants after his first year. Lebryan Nash was thought to be a one and done type too at one point...

He doesn't strike me as a one and done player. He's not a top 10 player at the high school level.

Whats better...having him with Wooden for a year or with Young?

I did say. The Scoop said there is a rumor out there that Bolden and Young are "looking at the same schools" (no surprise there, but does that imply a package deal?). The rumor also states Duke is in the lead, and OU is running second. That's it. They didn't substantiate it, but just stated the rumor was out there. It's hard not to be looking at some of the same schools when Young lists 11 schools...... not many of the top schools have been eliminated. Heck, Bolden may already be gone from a one-and-done year by the time Young gets around to committing.

He shows a lot of levels be to Duke and ku on Twitter. Almost daily. Several guys have made sweet edits for him and ZERO rt or thx....

Wonder if he thinks little of OU or exact opposite and just slow playing OU (publicly) and loves it.

Just an observation

Nope. You need to read the constitution.

The constitution prohibits the government from passing laws that limit your speech (except in certain situations, like shouting "fire" in a theatre) but it says nothing about having your speech limited by contract such as having trade secrets or non-disclosure agreements.

Also, all of the Crystal Ball predictions on the 247 deal over the last two months have him going to Kansas. And that includes a couple Duke site writers and one Kentucky site writer.

That being said, one of the most accurate Crystal Ball predictors on the football side picked a WR to go to OU last week, and a couple days later he committed to Houston.

So...
