marquette board: ou/buzz parting ways?

Speculation from fans and press does not mean we really know anything about what Joe is thinking or who he has contacted, if anybody yet. But, it does open us up for ridicule from other programs if we don't get our favorite choice! I just hope this time Joe is able to find someone who can coach and recruit and turns out to be as good a basketball coach as Bob is a football coach.
 
I can't tell if there is more or less disinformation surrounding this coaching search than last time. The MU crowd seems to be throwing out a lot of smokescreens. But I can almost guarantee without looking that some Marquette message board posters were probably saying that Buzz should go after their loss to UNC. Joe is probably talking through intermediaries until Monday.
 
If we get Johnny Jones we might as well just quit basketball all together. He barely had a .500 record at North Texas. You think he's really going to win at Oklahoma?

Unlike Buzz, his teams got better every year. You have to weigh his winning percentage against all the early years when he was building a BAD program. Look at the consistent wins over the last five years. He's also a good recruiter. His last class was the highest ranked class in UNT history.

No, I could just be out of YOUR mind. Kruger has leveled off as a coach. Was has he really done lately? Jones can out recruit him and his teams seem to play faster.

Which one wins more? Kruger coaches in a much tougher league yet he finishes above .500 every year. Jones can't say that and he's in one of the bottom 5 basketball leagues in college basketball.

Let's just steal Robert Goff from them, so long as they're not so jilted that they make it a condition for his release that he can't come to MU, should he request a release.* Of course I wouldn't mind if certain point guards that have committed to Arkansas and Tennessee would be uncomfortable with their coaching changes either...

So do you guys think Joe C has had a candidate in mind all along and they are just waiting for things to play out or is Joe C just reacting now?
