Navarro sophomore guard Matt Pressey was voted the Most Valuable Player of Region XIV. The son of former NBA player Paul Pressey, Matt ranked third in the league with 17.5 points per game. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.4 steals while converting 40 percent of his 3-pointers to rank among the leaders.

He said he wants to go to a school where he will have the opportunity at playing time, and that he is a combo guard that can play either guard position. It sounds like he has offers from Nebraska, Arkansas, TCU, Georgia State, Creighton, and a few others right now.

Maybe he could be a guy that Capel gets in on?

Per Scout Pressey is down to Missouri And Texas A&M and is visiting them in the next two weeks.

If he's down to Mizzou and A&M, he's going to have to decide between taking a scholarship or walking on. MU likely won't have one for him.

fify.

You think mizzou is not going to offer a scholarship to a scholarship caliber player who happens to be the brother of a star signee?

I think exactly what I said. Matt Pressey, regardless of his talent, doesn't have a scholarship offer from Mizzou, and unless 2-3 people leave he won't get one.

And yes, I think it's realistic that he could walk on. He has multiple ties to the program and his family can afford to pay for tuition. Most kids in his situation would never consider walking on, but because of his dad's relationship with Anderson it's a definite possibility.

It's really not all that different than CJ Henry walking on at kansas. His dad had ties to the program, his brother was going to be there and he had the money to do it, so why not? All apply to Matt Pressey, as well.

The NY yankees are paying for CJ's schooling. Also, CJ was offered a scholarship by KU before he chose to play baseball. There is no situation where a walkon is going that is good enough to play will walkon to a school where there might be lesser paid scholarship players there.
