Caught up with M'baye last night and here are his thoughts on the decision to choose Oklahoma.

Great, so now we have a GANG MEMBER on our team! Way to go, Kruger, bringing in the troublemakers...

“My host, Romero (Osby), has one of the best work ethics I have seen in a long time and was really imposing, along with Fitz (Andrew Fitzgerald). Overall, the team really looked great and the coaching change looked like it motivated everybody. ”

I'm excited to get this kid...but after the 100th person has said this exact same thing, I'm chomping at the bit to see RO in action.

M'baye will hopefully make us forget about N'Diaye.

this is just becoming contagious. it's so refreshing to hear some positive news coming out of the men's hoops program. i think i (and a lot of the fanbase) were simply in he doldrums for far too long with news, recruits and the future outlook.

Well done, Sam! :clap

I really like what I've read and seen of this young man on video. He's a player I will look forward to watching in an OU uniform in 2012. He's a lot more athletic than I expected, has good hops, some nice post moves and a decent touch on his shot. If he works hard on his game during his redshirt year, I think he could be a heck of a player in time.

How many years do we get him?

A chance he does not have to sit out next year?

Maybe I'm just immature (there's little doubt of that), but these transfers that require us to wait a year to see the player on the court drive me crazy. I'm sick to death of hearing about Osby at this point (it's not his fault, of course), and come next spring, I'm sure I'll have had my fill of "buzz" about M'baye. I'll take juco guys over D-1 transfers every time -- they can play right away.

I would have to go transfer over JUCO unless there was an immediate need for PT. Transfers you usually get to see on the court against better competition than Juco's. I'll take Wyoming experience over JUCO experience. Goff, Arent and Jurick did't play against Mizzou, UNLV, etc. last season. I think LK has done an excellent job recruiting the JUCOs and transfers and bringing in the best possible players for the program. Just wish we had a freshman in this class.

I agree that I'd like to see transfers play right away, but I like the idea of players taking a year off to practice, mature mentally and physically, and learn the new coach's system.

I'm excited to see him double his production with the work he has put in. 10 ppg and 5 rpg will be exciting to watch!

I know what you mean....but I would say it is pretty rare to have a transfer come in with the hype of being the most athletic and talented on the team...that makes it tough to wait...most transfers I would say are going to be good fillers, like mbaye
