Unless something changes, like Pedulla liking his visit, Ole Miss is also the favorite to land...

Obviously, Ole Miss has a better HC (abuse aside). They also have the better NIL setup, by far. It's not even close.

Ole Miss and Oklahoma posted 20-12 records last season.

What they don't have better than OU is basketball history. I mean, look at their basketball year by year (it's hideous).

You can do the same for Mizzou...

Some of the Ole Miss recruiting success is because of Beard. Dude wins games. Kids (for the most part) want to win games.

I think our recruiting would look a lot different if OU had found a way to win about 3 more regular season games last year. That difference makes a difference.

Ugh. I will admit that I haven't seen a single second of Scott, but a guy who put up very pedestrian numbers on a mediocre team in a mediocre league doesn't get me excited at all. Even if we land all four of these guys (doubtful), our offense will be . . . not good.
Yep.

With Elvis, you are taking the 4th best scorer on Dayton and trying to make him a starting guard in the SEC. I just don't see that playing well.

I'm fine with Elvis, but he needs to be a guy off the bench.

No doubt. Beard is a damn good coach (when discussing just the coaching part). Some kids, who want to win, will want to play for him.

OU and Ole Miss are in very similar situations. Neither team made the tourney, they have identical records, etc. Yet, OU's desperation isn't matching Ole Miss' desperation (or Mizzou's but yeah, Mizzou is a lot more desperate, lol. Horrendous season).

Is it all NIL? No, but I'm guessing a substantial part of Ole Miss landing 4 super productive portal kids has to do with money and I think it's safe to say, Ole Miss has more money right now. Stating the obvious, I know. What isn't shown is that Ole Miss is also returning two other double digit scores (Brakefield & Murray).....so Ole Miss' roster will have 6 double digit scorers as the enter '24-25. Using OU's hypothetical additions, OU would have 3 (Pedulla, Scott, & Moore). Elvis is obviously close to 10 ppg and I'd expect Garrison to get to at least 10 ppg next season (wherever he ends up playing).

Some of it is also on how the staffs evaluate. Ole Miss isn't looking at a kid like Elvis and pretending that'll help them get to the tourney (as a starter). Probably somewhat due to Beard knowing what it takes while Moser is still completely clueless (at the power conference level).

And with some of the names I've seen us chasing for the 2/3 spots, I think we're likely to ask Pedulla to do A LOT of the creating. I don't expect those turnover numbers to go down.

He’s always been wild. They gave him the ball a ton Tech. I think if him and Los played together they’d compliment each other.

Btw, I’m sure the gurus here already know this, but OU is sniffing around at the Wells kid that was at UCO.

OU right now are like little kids in the hood for Thanksgiving. Getting leftovers.

He'd be better slotted as your 6th/7th man. He has good versatility. Meaning, he could play the 3 or sub in for Moore at the (small) 4. Dependent upon matchups, injuries, etc.

The problem is...OU seems to not be able to land another dude or two (budget or coaches?) and are settling for okay-ish as starters.

Yea it speaks volumes that pretty much every guy we are in on other than Pedulla and maybe Garrison would ideally be a bench guy. But we are replacing our entire starting lineup other than (hopefully) Moore.

Mizzou throws a wrench in your thought process. It is about the money.

Between soonerbounce completely ignorant takes on everything and the debate on how much money would it take to leave your family…
This board has been insufferable lately. We need some good news.
